Has anyone heard anything on the Status of Fritz Rock. Had read on another sight that Chris Monter had talked to him and that he would update his situation today.

Preferred walk on perhaps?

Per Rivals, looks like he visited Western Michigan a couple of weekends ago.

He did not visit Western Michigan a few weekends ago, they had asked him, but he was not able to make it.

He has only taken one official, and it's to Wyoming. Wyoming really wants him.

Fritz is still weighing out his options, so he can really make a good choice. He's taking his decision seriously, just has not made one yet. He still has time, because schools are taking kids, even though signing day was over. Schools are still contacting him, and will be filling their classes until April 1st.

Fritz!!!! Walk-on at the U ;) I know its a long shot. Maybe he and Brew aren't on the best of terms anymore with how it all played out. He would be a real quality player in the MAC.

I don't see Fritz walking on anywhere when he has other D-1 options out there.

Nothing wrong with a free education at Wyoming. In fact I think it might be kind of a cool place to live 4-5 years.

I hear that, plus you are the only game in the whole state and close to Denver and in a decent conference where you get to play Utah, TCU, Air Force, etc. They also play Texas non-conference the next few years. They also have a new head coach who was a very successful offensive coordinator at Missouri the past several years and was responsible for one of the most productive offenses in football, this all done with a QB who was not that highly recruited coming out of high school and snubbed by his home state university.

I like Laramie, WY. I drove through there on the way to a backpacking trip this summer. It isn't a place I'd ever want to settle down, but I think it would be a great place to receive a free education for 4-5 years! I hope Rock accepts the offer and does well there.

Wyoming is a very underrated place to live. Beautiful mountains, great golf courses, and a much slower pace of life.

Been there many times. Not bad, unless you need the city. Probably a great place to go and be king.

i would never go there! ive been there and it was the worst. i wouldnt recommend it to anyone. boring!

All he did was take an official there so he has far from committed to go there. I think it would be kind of fun as a student, and lets be honest when you are a college student you don't need much for entertainment except some beers and a party. It isn't as if most college kids are taking in the arts scene here in Minneapolis.

Weighing your options

More to the point he is reevaluting the choices remaining. If he still has Division 1 interest, he should make the choice or should have made the choice. Mr. Rock certainly has a higher opinion of himself than top 50 recruiters. The reality has set in, and the choices are a full ride to Wyoming or what? Take the offer, and exit the stage.

He has several other Division 1 offers at this point and I think he is probably evaluating each of them and or possibly waiting to see if there are any other schools that may be interested as kids at programs come to the reality that they will not qualify academically and have to go the JUCO route for a year or two. It isn't as if he is clogging up the press each night, he is making his decisions quietly so you shouldn't be bothered and telling him the exit the stage. Remember it is us speculating on him and not him coming on here trying to create a buzz.

Looks like he has an offer from Indiana. Wouldn't be the end of the world.

Laramie is the D-1 Valley City State.

I agree with you on the Indiana offer, it is a quality school with a great college atmosphere and you still get to play against top level competition each week.

You obviously didn't go downtown and visit any bars. The bar scene is terrific and you can't argue with the Laramie girls taking their clothes off when they get drunk

I am fairly surprised Rock hasn't taken the IU offer if he still has it. That's Big Ten ball and nothing to sneeze at one bit. Indiana is not nearly as bad as it was five years ago. It took a step back when Hoeppner passed away but it still can be an exciting team to watch.
