Franklin Fired

Kind of saw this coming after the NW loss. What a downfall.

His record against top tier competition was absolutely dog water, especially against the upper echelon of the B1G.

Tony Elliott is going to be a hot name if UVA takes advantage of the easy schedule ahead of them.

Forgive me if it’s been posted, what is Franklin’s coaching history? Is he a D or O guy? I assume he’ll get picked up quick as a head guy, but curious what he’d do if he went in a coordinator role.

Now that Franklin is gone, it is almost hard to believe that, of current head coaches, Fleck is the second longest tenured in the B1G (longest? - Ferentz of course)
The disaster that was the period from Mason -> Fleck scared Gopher fans straight. We know how bad it can get.

Quick peek at his bio shows mostly offensive coaching roles but I highly doubt he will end up going the position coach role. He won't have trouble finding a head coaching gig if he wants one....question will be if he wants one or if he would rather enjoy PSU's money while doing something else like TV or whatever.

Agreed. Unless he is burnt out, Franklin seems like a HC kinda guy.

Franklin was sippin his favorite beverage and smokin a big stick last night. The guy won a pot of gold and now has many choices.
