Frank Kaminsky is the best player in college basketball? They are kidding right?

Kaminsky's a nice player, but he's no Cody Zeller.

Kaminsky's a nice player, but he's no Cody Zeller.

Zeller was a different sort of player. Hard to compare. Kaminsky is more like a very poor man's Dirk Nowitzki.

Kaminsky is not one of the top 20 pro prospects in the college game today, but I'd say he is one of the top 5-6 college players. Okafor will get POY, although I actually think Cauley-Stein and Towns should share it (if one of them had the position to themselves at Kentucky, they'd win it).

Definitely a different player than Zeller. Both college studs. I prefer big guys also capable of doing work away from the basket. Amazing how far Kaminsky has come. To compare his shooting skills to another recent stud college player (and now a Timberwolf), Kaminsky is Adreian Payne with more range, and Payne had a pretty solid face-up jumper.

It's not really a fair comparison, because you're comparing Zeller as a sophomore to Kaminsky as a senior. Zeller came in as an elite prospect and entered the NBA on the basis of his high ceiling. Kaminsky came in as a lunch-pail recruit and has turned himself into one of the best college players in recent memory. Zeller was a better college and NBA prospect (and may be the better NBA player), but Kaminsky is by far the superior college player, and it's not particularly close.

Kaminsky's skills translate much better to the NBA than Zeller. Mainly the skill of being 7 feet tall.

Kaminsky is going to have a longer and more productive career than Zeller.

I would take Kaminsky any day of the week and twice on Sunday senior year compared to senior year. Yes, Zeller was better earlier, but Frank is a better senior.

Besides the first part, everything you wrote here is false or laughable. He will be one of the top 15 players drafted for sure, which will include Euro and high school players.
He is going to get player of the year. No doubt.
You think that a couple players with 10 other Mcdonalds All Americans on the team should share the award rather than the player that absolutely carried a team to a 27-3 record in a tough conference?

A) Kaminsky is gonna win. Sorry to tell you that, but most people have him ahead of Okafor.
B) It would be interesting to see what would happen if KAT and WCS weren't on a loaded team, but you'll note that Kaminsky's efficiency numbers are better than either, so it's not just a minutes/volume thing. In fact, it's harder to sustain efficiency at higher volume, which is why KenPom separates out Offensive Rating by usage. Last night's game dropped Kaminsky 0.1% below the cutoff for KenPom's top usage grouping, but if he were stil in it there'd be a bigger gap between him and 2nd than between 2nd and 14th.

1. Frank Kaminsky, Wisconsin
Previous ranking: 1
Having just informed you of Saturday's top-15 watch list reveal, we realize this next bit might be anticlimactic. But it's also true, so here goes: The Wooden Award race is over. Frank Kaminsky is going to win.

Well, we don't know what Zeller's senior year would have been like so there's no point in trying to make a hypothetical comparison like that.

I don't know how good Kaminsky will be in the pros but I'm inclined to agree with you at this point. Cody has shown definite improvement from his rookie to soph year in the NBA (his brother Tyler has also shown steady improvement) but he doesn't shoot threes very often and Frank might end up being more of an outside threat.

I have no clue how Kaminski will do in the NBA, b ut jesus christ, if Prizbilla can last 13 ****ing years, who's to say what Kaminski will do, as far POY, he's got it, he does have a very good game and deserves it---especially coming from out of nowhere really.

He's really going to have to hit the weight room in the NBA. The bigs will push him off the ball on offense and on defense he'll have trouble holding position. Hell, Mo was able to get position on him.

You think Karl Anthony Towns might win POY? How about I give you $1000 if it's him and you give me $10 if it's Kaminsky. Towns isn't even POY on his own team. He's a better NBA prospect to be sure, but here are the stats each leads in:

- Kaminsky: Minutes, POssesions used, points per game, points per 40, Offensive Rating, FG PCT, FTM, FTA, 3pt FG%, Effective FG%, True Shooting %, rebounds per game, def reb %, assist / game, assist/turnover ratio, assist %, steals / game, steal %, turnover %, fouls / game, +/- avg, roland avg

- Towns: FT %, off reb %, blocks per game, block pct

Kaminsky leads Towns in almost all the counting stats AND in almost all the percentages. You know what. I'll give you $10000 if TOwns wins it and you give me $5 if Kaminsky does.

And at this point Kaminsky is leading Okafor too:
