I disagree.I don't see LIV surviving very long unless they get more top golfers. I know it's early but the interest doesn't seem to be there from fans. Apparently the crowd was pretty small at the event last week at Trump's course.

I think majority of golf fans will still pay more attention to the one that has the most talented players.I disagree.
They have unlimited resources. LIV can lose money every year, millions and millions, and continue moving forward. Making money was never their ultimate goal I suspect. Greg Norman said the other day that next year is really the first year for LIV Golf.
This will continue to gain momentum, a few more big names here and there, it's not stopping anytime soon. They are going to force the PGA Tour into making some major changes, they already have. The PGA Tour's decision to make this as combative and confrontational as possible wasn't the greatest decision.
I haven't watched any of it yet, but I probably would if it was available on more platforms.
I give it two or three years. They are shelling out hundreds of millions of dollars for second rate golfers....which means that they'll never actually do anything but lose astronomical amounts of money. Also....the four player team draft format is a gimmick.
It will be interesting to see how it plays out. There's money, and then there's Saudi oil money. LIV to the Saudi's is like a Sunday at Canterbury for most people.
100%. It's a hobby, not much more, they can afford to lose essentially an infinite amount. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. There's money, and then there's Saudi oil money. LIV to the Saudi's is like a Sunday at Canterbury for most people.
Competition baby.100%. It's a hobby, not much more, they can afford to lose essentially an infinite amount.
The PGA Tour players won't say it openly but they are loving this. It's making a dent, the PGA Tour and their idiotic commissioner have botched this from the beginning but they are at least finally adjusting.
Heard this morning that for a number of the bigger PGA Tour events next season, the total purse "magically" increased from roughly $12M to $20M. Zero, ZERO chance that happens without the LIV pressure.
And I also agree with Greg Norman on another thing; why can't the two tours peacefully co-exist? Seems petty and reactionary for the PGA Tour to start trying to ban these guys. They are going to lose, and they are going to lose big.
Poor leadership within the PGA Tour over the years is what gave birth to LIV and poor leadership is what has put them in this situation.

I don’t believe Greg Norman had any intention of LIV peacefully coexisting. He’s had a burr in his saddle against the PGA for decades.100%. It's a hobby, not much more, they can afford to lose essentially an infinite amount.

I think a shotgun start could or even should be implemented for early rounds, regular fields could have half the field morning then other half afternoon. Would have to double up groups on Par 5s, and limit field to probably 124, going as 3s.I don’t believe Greg Norman had any intention of LIV peacefully coexisting. I’m an avid golfer and golf watcher (I enjoy watching the LPGA as much as the PGA). I tried watching some of the LIV on YouTube and found it lacking. It feels gimmicky. I thought the shotgun start was intriguing, but it actually makes it less interesting to watch. The flow seems odd not having the normal tee time method. But most importantly, with so much guaranteed money, it just doesn’t seem like the competition for winning has the same importance.
So far, all the big names that have left for LIV don’t move the needle for me. All my golfing friends express similar feelings. LIV will exist as long as Saudi Arabia is willing to fund it. I guess those millions of dollars might as well be in the players bank accounts versus the Saudi’s.
I think the LPGA will actually work to coexist with LIV. The women make so much less, I don’t think they can fight LIV.
I would like to be a fly on the wall at this proposed meeting.

The PGA Tour is in Delaware for the first time and the buzz still surrounded Tiger Woods, even if he didn't have clubs and might not be seen.www.startribune.com
