It only matters he can't.
Go get a coach who can.

not getting Morgan is definately not the end of the world....

Hoiberg did a home visit and Morgan took a campus visit. If Ben didn't do both of those, then I would say that Hoiberg outworked him.

I AM open to the idea of hiring a billionaire coach, even if he knows nothing about basketball. And letting him hire assistants for the actual coaching.
 




I wouldn’t get too worked up about not landing a second team Summit League transfer. Have a little composure people. Everything is not life and death, black and white, etc. There will be positives coming out of this cycle of transfers.

For some it could, but not always for the reason those with a political axe to grind think it is


There is a charm to college towns that Minneapolis lacks
Some from smaller towns could be scared by seeing a homeless person
Some might not like how spread it out everything is

It's not always a slanted political narrative

Come on now, that's not true. I don't believe the tired old cliche of "You can't say anything these days!" You (or I) can say anything we want but freedom of speech simply means that one doesn't get arrested or face some other oppressive penalty for their words. Freedom of speech doesn't mean that someone is entitled to be immune from criticism or disagreement.

I'd be the opposite. A small town, even a college town, would be a negative. Not enough opportunities and too many people are all up in your business.

I was born and raised in rural MN in an unincorporated town. It is not as idealistic as some people make it out to be. Annonymity is non-existent, unless you really enjoy lots of other people whispering behind your back. ;)

I agree with the things you've stated above but the perception of the city having high rates of crime probably is the major factor. In fact, the city does rank fairly high in the crimes people probably care most about: robbery and burglary (including burglary of or from vehicles). Of course, it's possible to spend a lot of time in Minneapolis without running into any of these things.

You have not been mauled by the speech police lately then. Of course, we have free speech. But it can also cost you. There’s a reason many people don’t feel comfortable speaking their mind in most situations.

Have I been mauled by the speech police? I'm not sure. I wouldn't say that I've faced anything that I can't handle. At worst I've been temporarily upset or angry afterwards.

I agree that words can cost you but how much I care about that depends upon the cost.

Never seen or heard much about Morgan. If he's not a worthy b10 player, why was MN competing with NE for his commitment? I hope he's got players to replace those transferees as well as bodies to fill the roster.

I would guess in Morgan’s case it was this simple.

If Neb has stupid collective money to throw $200k at a kid like Morgan, and DTA can offer $25k … well there you go.

Knowing Waseca well, I don't think anything associated with the "Big City" would have been a big part of his decision.
