Some of you need to wake up.
These transfers are looking for 1 thing. Money.

It doesn't matter why Johnson can't get the players. Some kids, and some kid’s parents, simply do not want to be in a big city. They want to be in a college town. I’ve gone through this with my own kids and grandkids looking at colleges (not D1 athletes). Many kids prefer the college town vibe. Some who didn’t grow up in the city are intimidated by it. BUT, all that being said, there are many factors that go into a recruits decision and a transfer decision. Location is only one of many factors.
Expected playing time, fit with existing players, fit with coach, proximity to family/fiends, NIL, potential TV exposure, history of program including likelihood of N.C.A.A. appearance, etc. Kids want to play and they want to win. Saying that a coach got “outworked” because a recruit or transfer decided to go elsewhere is nonsense (unless you have direct knowledge that it is factually true).
Morgan has better than 1 foot range though, so there is that…Yes, but Payne has 20lbs minimum on Morgan, has a lower center, has better hops, and occupies more space. I too was hoping he wouldn't dash for the cash, but that's our world. Ideally, get a physical 6'10"/260lb+ dude to shoot, rebound, and occupy space in the paint. Don't care if he can step out, but that's a bonus.

not getting Morgan is definately not the end of the world....
I think CBJ has a better 5 in the hopper
He was definitely on campus and safe bet there was a home visit considering Waseca is an hour away.Hoiberg did a home visit and Morgan took a campus visit. If Ben didn't do both of those, then I would say that Hoiberg outworked him.
I AM open to the idea of hiring a billionaire coach, even if he knows nothing about basketball. And letting him hire assistants for the actual coaching. It doesn't matter why Johnson can't get the players.
It only matters he can't.
Go get a coach who can.
For some it could, but not always for the reason those with a political axe to grind think it isWe’re basically not allowed to suggest that Minneapolis might hurt recruiting.

I'd be the opposite. A small town, even a college town, would be a negative. Not enough opportunities and too many people are all up in your business. For some it could, but not always for the reason those with a political axe to grind think it is
There is a charm to college towns that Minneapolis lacks
Some from smaller towns could be scared by seeing a homeless person
Some might not like how spread it out everything is
It's not always a slanted political narrative

You have not been mauled by the speech police lately then. Of course, we have free speech. But it can also cost you. There’s a reason many people don’t feel comfortable speaking their mind in most situations.Come on now, that's not true. I don't believe the tired old cliche of "You can't say anything these days!" You (or I) can say anything we want but freedom of speech simply means that one doesn't get arrested or face some other oppressive penalty for their words. Freedom of speech doesn't mean that someone is entitled to be immune from criticism or disagreement.

Like the UoM did with Pitino? Not the billionaire part, the part about knowing nothing about basketball.I AM open to the idea of hiring a billionaire coach, even if he knows nothing about basketball. And letting him hire assistants for the actual coaching.
Never seen or heard much about Morgan. If he's not a worthy b10 player, why was MN competing with NE for his commitment? I hope he's got players to replace those transferees as well as bodies to fill the roster.I wouldn’t get too worked up about not landing a second team Summit League transfer. Have a little composure people. Everything is not life and death, black and white, etc. There will be positives coming out of this cycle of transfers.

Robbie Avila (aka Cream Abdul Jabbar) from Indiana State entered the transfer portal today. Better shooter, ball handler, and passer than Payne. Just sayin’
With those glasses, someone will pay him a lot of money to mug spectacles right here !And he’ll get paid more
He should! Was fun to watch. Will be interesting to see where he ends up….And he’ll get paid more
I'm sure he's thinking he'll follow Schertz to St. Louis but I bet someone makes him a nice offer. The NIL $ for Rec Specs is huge I bet!He should! Was fun to watch. Will be interesting to see where he ends up….
He went into the portal with an exclamation point, which indicates do not contact. He’s going to St Louis 99% sure.I'm sure he's thinking he'll follow Schertz to St. Louis but I bet someone makes him a nice offer. The NIL $ for Rec Specs is huge I bet!
I would guess in Morgan’s case it was this simple. Some of you need to wake up.

Is St Louis that much of an upgrade from a MVC team?I'm sure he's thinking he'll follow Schertz to St. Louis but I bet someone makes him a nice offer. The NIL $ for Rec Specs is huge I bet!
I was wondering the same thing, but I think SLU is a big step up academically from ISU if that matters. Is St Louis that much of an upgrade from a MVC team?
They’re not Big East. If it was a Big East team then I’d say for sure.
Knowing Waseca well, I don't think anything associated with the "Big City" would have been a big part of his decision. For some it could, but not always for the reason those with a political axe to grind think it is

The A 10 is more likely for an automatic qualifier than the MVC, so I'd say yes.Is St Louis that much of an upgrade from a MVC team?
