Fleck Signs New Contract!

Nothing about the terms in there. Assume it is in line with what they have done after most seasons.

That new contract smell!

Negative, but hopefully he gives them the bonus.
Tough for anyone to give away that chunk of change but if Fleck is an "investment" guy, he certainly should assuming it would help him hang out to proven coordinators for a little bit longer.

That's probably a big assumption, though, with the way coordinators jump programs these days.

I think it's ridiculous if he doesn't give team preformance bonuses to his employees.

It drives me nuts when people compare coaches' win totals from different eras, as if 66 wins for Fleck means the same thing it meant for Henry Williams, Bernie Bierman, or Murray Warmath. I don't think Fleck is one of the most successful coaches in Minnesota football history. I think he's had one excellent season, a handful of pretty good ones, and several mediocre ones. But because the team plays twelve games in a season instead of eight, he accumulates wins faster. Remember, when Bernie Bierman or Murray Warmath won eight games, it meant they were national champions. When Fleck wins eight games, it means he's lost five.

Having said that, I don't hate Fleck, I wish him the best, and congratulations coach on your extension.

Not an extension.

The 7 and 0 at home for the first time since 1931 is a bit of hyperbole...how many seasons since 1950...so 75 years...has any team played 7 home games? Doesn't happen often I'm guessing...or has it?
Not to be lost... 7 and 0 at home is definitely cool!
