Fleck on Taylor injury: "It doesn't seem too bad, which is really good. So, we got really good, positive diagnosis on that.”

A healthy DT is definitely a NFL running back. He's also much bigger than Bucky.
And slower at this size. That’s my point. He’s not a big enough to be a between tackles banger imo. He’s best when he’s a threat in the passing game (his hands and shiftiness are his NFL attributes) and off tackle. Basically exact same as Bucky

He was 15 pounds or so lighter when he came in and looked faster. No doubt they wanted him to bulk up to try be an every down back.

He’s a great back and I think he loves getting the rock (and I love his toughness as a fan). Tons of guys are better getting it 10-15x a game and we have (well had prior to all the injuries) guys who look like they could all tote it this year. Kind of like the year we had Potts, Irving, and Thomas all splitting

Bucky isn't exactly a speedster either and I don't think we've seen DT healthy often enough to really gauge his speed. DT is definitely faster than Mo.

Most of last year they did use DT in the way you were asking. He only had 20+ carries 4 times, and two of those were the last game against Wisconsin, knowing there was going to be a long layoff, and the bowl game after a month off.

Thankfully I think this is the best RB depth we have had since DT has been here.

You don't think Vegas was aware that Taylor might miss the game after he was out for the last 7 quarters?
I don’t think Vegas was aware that our no. 2 running back was also out … for the season. Had you heard any hint of this?

Risk reward tipping point approaching for kids with NFL dreams. Gotta wonder if contracts are/could be incentivized.

I’ll still argue that I think Darius Thomas is our best player. With him playing I think the gophers win this game by 14 points. There is a huge drop off between him and the back up running backs. I think he is one of the best overall backs in the Big Ten if not the country when he is healthy. If he gets healthy, the gophers could still win nine maybe 10 games if they get lucky I do think if he does not play they’ll be lucky to win eight.

I'm skeptical... if only because our OL on runs has been really hit or miss (literally missing blocks and assignments) and I'm not sure DT can overcome that.

Also not sure we commit to the pass like we did if DT was available.... too easy to just call him and maybe not go well. We had to be fast down the field today.

I don’t think he’s slower at this size. I thought he looked very quick and fast earlier. Now, he needs to get his ass back on the field this week against the Buckeyes we can win quite a few games without him sprinkled throughout the schedule, but not this one; most likely. I get that this game is on the road, but I’ll never forget the first half Mo had against these sons a bitches before he popped his achilles. They are not invincible but we need all hands on deck.

What makes you think we can win THIS one with him? If he's not perfectly healthy, don't play him in this one. Hell, even if he is, wait for Purdue.

If Mo was a bowling ball with knives attached Darius is a pinball whose momentum increases when he runs into someone.

Yes, the Vegas line setters knew all about Turner. All the discussion I heard between Cal and Rutgers was that Turner had a long term injury. And I am talking about from people like Ryan Burns and Justin Gaard, not some insider information.
