ESPN Story on Kris Humpries

He's certainly rich but has had a pretty disappointing NBA career until now. I wonder if he doesn't wonder "what if" when he watches the NCAA tournament. If you ever hear players talk of memories it is always their college sports, not the NBA or NFL.

I don't believe father and son Humpohries we're on speaking terms for a few years, not sure if that has been smoothed over.

I don't think Kris has any regrets about his college career, it was a stepping stone to get him to his ultimate goal that he had been trained to reach since he was young. He often worked out with NBA people in high school and always viewed that at his goal, I don't think he really cared about college at all, whether that was Minnesota or Duke or whoever. I believe the biggest problem with Kris is that he never learned how to play with other kids. He rarely played AAU ball or in pickup games, instead choosing to work on individual skills with guys like Trent Tucker and Chris Carr. While it obviously helped him become a super skilled player, it never taught him the little parts of the game you learn by playing pickup ball.

Good for him, I hope he does well and it will be nice as Mavs games are on TV quite a bit.

I heard Kris isn't the nicest guy in the world. Does anyone know if this is true?

I wonder if he thinks more about how he could have benefited from a few more years playing college ball? Averaging 4.2 points and 3.0 rebounds in 11.6 minutes per game is decent (actually, just to be playing the NBA is incredible), but with his god given talent, you do question if he could have been more of a team player and would have really excelled had he learned more in college?
