Sleeper: C John Michael Schmitz, Minnesota Golden Gophers
He didn't see a whole lot of time on the college field until this past season, but Schmitz dominated on his 452 snaps in 2019. The Minnesota center ended up producing a WAA total that ranked seventh at the position, and everyone ahead of him played nearly double the number of snaps.

Schmitz produced an 83.9 PFF overall grade that ranked third in the FBS, and he was one of five centers who earned grades above 78.0 in both pass protection and as a run-blocker. It's up in the air whether he'll get the starting nod in 2020, but he certainly proved he could handle it with his 2019 campaign.

Of course he is going to play and even start a lot. You just can't get six O line guys through a whole season without injuries or rotations, not to even mention the six O line men plays we ran so well last year. Just an excellent situation to have.

It is quite amazing how the Offensive Line as a group continue to improve from losing four or five games in a row to defeating Auburn Defense in the Outback Bowl.

That was a fantastic well executed game planning and blocking scheme by the Gophers. That was a system shock to the vaunted Auburn Defense who probably took the Gophers for granted.

On the final possession, they milked over eight minutes of clock to seal the victory.

Kudos to Callahan and Fleck!

great memories! cant wait until we see them playing again

Love that play at 1:40 left in the game, where we just pile drive them backwards. Great cap to a great game.

John Michael Schmitz was a key cog in the Gophers Offensive line that made this victory possible.

Looking at the team stats, the Gophers completely dominated in every statistical categories except for Special Teams.

The biggest category is keeping the Auburn Offense off the field by dominating TOP by 62.6% (37:35 min/22.25 min)!
