ESPN Gameday going to NDSU next week

When I think of North Dakota State I think of all of their fans who came over to this board after they beat us to taunt us about it. The little experience I have had with the Sioux fans on this board has shown them to be ungracious and cocky, and this will only serve to further inflate their egos.

No sense. No matchy.

Probably so ESPN can prove to the confederate south that North Dakota actually exists.

Good luck Sioux. Great for them. Maybe Gameday will broadcast from outside the Corn Palace?

Is this becoming an exercise in geography futility?

This. I have had ZERO positive experiences interacting with that fan base.

I never did understand why anyone cares about where GameDay goes- - or why anyone would waste their tailgate standing around there.

I wonder why they decided to go next week. Must have been a slow week for marquee matchups because NDSU is playing Delaware state. NDSU should win by 50. I would have liked to see them bring game day in for USD or Northern Iowa.

It's my understanding that they have gone to one FCS school each season the past few years. It makes sense to go to the 2 time defending champ...and also go when the conference seasons aren't really in full swing. There's probably not a big time game next week either and everything pretty much aligned for this week. Cool for NDSU though.

This.

I remember when Gameday was entertaining. Now, it's every bit as unwatchable as NFL pregame shows. As usual, I'll pass.

you have a poor understanding. Only other fcs visits were penn in 2002 and Florida A&M in 2008. Only big ten teams yet to host are Minnesota Illinois and Indiana.

I assume most of our fanbase knows that Fargo is bigger than Iowa City, State College, West Lafayette, East Lansing, Bloomington, IN, and who knows what else, right?

I've traveled to KU, CSU and KSU the past 4 years, along with the MN game in 2011. In wearing green to TCF, MN fans wouldn't interactive with you, talk with you, or even look at you. I was beneath them, and they scowled when I even tried to converse. Contrast that with K State fans who went out of their way to visit, see where I was from, and urge me to enjoy my time in their town. They actually cared if I had a good experience at the game, and people visited with me throughout.

Maybe you were truly sitting by some bison fans that were behaving poorly . . . or maybe you hated the fact that they expected to win in your house. If the fans were rude, my apologies.

You the same person who goes by "herd" over on bisonville? Please tell me you are.

Hmm... trashing a fanbase on their message board.... how ndsu of you. Curious, if you had such a terrible experience with our fanbase, why are you posting on gopherhole? On second thought, don't bother responding. You are officially on my ignore list.

I like it when Herd posts on GH. But then I like concussions caused by vigorous head shakes from them.

they should do this when they play North Dakota (hopefully next year) that's the most incredible rivalry nobody has ever heard of because they haven't played each other in ten years... but the nickel trophy used to turn out almost 35 to 40 thousand... and if anyone ever saw the show football america that rivalry was featured along with osu michigan.. that's saying something considering that North Dakota used to own that rivalry til NDSU went D1
Go gophs

The majority of their roster is from ND, MN and WI. I believe in that order... i'll have to look again.

Correction...

NDSU roster.

Minnesota- 37
North Dakota- 22
Wisconsin- 18

...pretty big for a lot of Minnesota kids that didn't get a chance with the U, and have a chip on their shoulder.

Good for NDSU. I'm not trying to be a tool, but what exactly is holding them back from moving up to FBS? Is it academics? They can't be worse than the Boise State's of the world. Money? Facilities? Is there a way to renovate the FargoDome to reach FBS standards? If UMass and Old Dominion can field FBS teams, why can't NDSU? They can obviously compete at that level.

1. Money: No way NDSU can pay coaches at the level that would be required;
2. Facilities: FargoDome seats approximately 18,000, far too small to support #1; Bison Sports Arena seats approximately 8,000, far too small to support #1; Let alone supporting all other non-revenue sports.
3. Renovate to expand? No way.
