Per U of MN press release:

MINNEAPOLIS - University of Minnesota head men’s basketball coach Niko Medved has completed his staff with the addition of Drew Evenson as Director of Scouting and Analytics.

Evenson joined the Gopher men’s basketball program as a student manager before the 2022-23 season and was elevated to head manager in 2023. As head manager, the Holmen, Wis. product assisted with daily operations for the student-athletes and staff, as well as film breakdown and analytics. Evenson graduated from the University of Minnesota in May of 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in sports management.

Evenson is the third former Gopher manager to land a full-time position with the program. He joins Medved and assistant coach Aaron Katsuma as former managers to full-time Gopher men’s basketball roles.

Used to be a facilities arms race. Now it's a bunch of extra/made up positions probably pulling in big salaries. Five assistant coaches (used to be 3, the roster didn't get bigger), chief of staff, director of ops, director of player personnel, director of player development (you have six coaches!), director of scouting.

Football's even worse. Assistant wide receiver coach? Two offensive coordinators and a run game coordinator? Defensive coordinator + defensive line coach + rush ends coach + assistant defensive line coach?

Congrats Drew!
