Seriously, 1 game in and an academic suspension? Clown-show continues.
 

Any idea why?? I just parked for the game and on the radio say: breaking gopher basketball news. It's going to drive me crazy

Reliable inside source informed me recently that academics could be a concern going forward. Let's hope message was received and heeded.

Sure hope so.

No one informed me it would be so frustrating when I signed up for Gopher BB in 1964. Effing fine print I guess.
 


He's been in school for 8 weeks and he's already on academic suspension? This won't end well.

Unless someone has other info, we don't know what the suspension is for.........or for how long. could be just this game.

My takeaway from this is if a kid can't even "uphold his academic responsibilities" not even 2 months into his first semester, I don't like the odds that he suddenly becomes serious about the "student" part of the "student-athlete" equation. I hope the suspension jolts him, but I'm not holding my breath.
 




If it's only for one game, my guess would be that someone might be skipping some classes.

I wouldn't worry too much right now. The kid could have skipped a class or two. If this becomes a pattern, or an extended suspension, then worry.
 



I bet he skipped a study session or something. Thanks gl. I feel like we read he was a pretty smart kid coming in? Or was that another recruit?
 

Being late sounds like the issue. Hope he got the message and this is over.

Lol, this guy. After years of things like top recruits stealing from department stores and leaving the team or not playing because they might literally have a heart attack on the court, nothing is ever as it seems.

"Minor issue" and this program are mutually exclusive. We should know that by now. Our only center has a stress fracture in his foot and the season hasn't even started yet.

Since he had a bad first exhibition game, he was in for a bad career and we really won't miss him anyway. Likely hasn't done one stitch of homework or gone to one class since he arrived and has a long list of things that would violate his privacy if revealed by the U.:)

We need to really hype this thing up in the worst possible light or we would not be Gopher fans.
