I couldn't agree more. We used to get word on which recruits would be at what games (not from Monson, of course, as he couldn't comment on recruits , and there would be tons of signs, chants, etc. in the Barnyard. It's really not that tough. I don't know if they still hand out flyers before the game, but we did ,NateDawg would do a great job digging up dirt on opposing players, and we'd get the recruit info on there. Then you spend about $25 investing in posters and markers that people can make in the foyer area, or while waiting for the game to start. It's a minimal effort and cost, but it does make a difference. Just like winning, a coach, facilties, etc., they all play into a decision...and let's be honest, these are 17 year old kids, who wouldn't want to feel like an entire student body wanted them?
I also agree with Doogie on this - show all those kids the love. It's not that tough to do.
I totally agree with Nadine on this, the attention does make a difference. I was sitting about 20 feet from Tyus and Rashad, and Rashad had a "left out" look on his face during the Tyus chants. While the student section was loud yesterday, they need to do a better job in regard to recruits in attendance. Someone in the Barnyard needs to take charge and make a difference. Even if it was passing out a flyer at the beginning of the game to the students that had scheduled chants....i.e. at the 10:00 of the first half...VAUGHN AND TYUS....VAUGHN AND TYUS. You could get creative and have all sorts of good chants. I'm not saying it's a genius idea by any sort, but I think it could be effective. The one thing that surprised me was when Vaughn showed up to Williams that he never acknowledged Tyus as he walked in, they never said a word to each other, let alone tossed a glance at one another. They are clearly no more than acquaintances.

Is this how we landed Kerry Wooldridge?
Well I was sitting 19 feet from Tyus and Rashad and Rashad did not have a "left out" look on his face. Seriously dude!
Kevin Nelson @RomiDaMan
@DarrenWolfson did you talk to him about the "chants controversy" at all? and did he say how many teams he would cut his list to and when?
Darren Wolfson @DarrenWolfson
@RomiDaMan I did. Said he heard a couple real faint chants. But that they came at weird times. He noticed the Tyus ones were more frequent.
Darren Wolfson @DarrenWolfson
They spoke for a bit Monday at Barn. They're friends. “@9thnhennepin: @DarrenWolfson Any info on how well Rashad and Tyus know each other?”
