Doogie says AJ Barker hearing from "a bunch of 1A schools" including Houston

BS. Nobody wants a guy who played nearly one season, one year left, and a pain in the ass to boot. If he plays, it will be at Mankato.

No he wouldn't be playing in Mankato unless it is intramural touch football at South Central Technical College.
Minnesota State does not need him, maybe you should know that MSUM finished the season 11-0 and won it's first playoff game last Saturday. I did not see it as I was at the Minnesota game. If the Twin Cities media were not such a Division III quality bunch they would realize there is a better team in Minnesota than St. Thomas.

Doogie never said that any schools offered him a scholarship.

You are correct, but Doogie won't let this go. He needs to know when it is time to dismount a dead horse.
I was referring to others in this thread who are advocating that there are plenty of coaches at other schools that will offer a scholarship.

I heard that Barker just hired an agent and will be declaring for the NFL draft.

So leave without saying a word to the fans?

Yes, that's exactly what I said. There's a medium between not saying a word and rambling on in a 4,000 word letter.

Either way, if he truly cares about his teammates, then keeping quiet publicly would have been the way to go. I have no problem with him writing the letter, just don't go public with it.

Barker could have left without a word. Or he could have done an exclusive interview with a member of the media. Both would have damaged Kill far more than the 4000 page incoherent letter.

I wonder if AJ's charades may have contributed to Coach Kill's latest seizures.

I am from an older generation and we were taught, what that does not "kill" you will only make you stronger. AJ needs to learn how to man up!
His mom's friend or himself will just find the same issue's at his new school. Is he really going to find a gentle, kind, warm fuzzy football program at the division one level? Good luck to him!

You have a world class medical team at the U that has probably fixed more ankles than Carter had pills yet you choose to go about "healing" with your own methods. You disrespect the General by chastising his Lieutenants and not following orders. If Kill lets this slide how does it look to his current players? How does it look to his assistants and medical staff?

What AJ needed to understand is that he wasn't any higher on the special tree than any other player on that roster. Because he was having a decent season doesn't afford him extra liberties when it comes to the attitude area.

It's a privilege to play at the U. Seems like AJ didn't care about that part of it anymore.

He dropped every pass thrown to him for two years, missed a lot of the two seasons due to injuries, yet thought he deserved a scholarship because he played well in preseason camp. Plays the whole year, well, and quits on his eam before the final game and launches a 4,000 word hatchet job before the last game of the season, because of an injustice that happened 12 weeks ago. Yup, just the kind of stable influence I want on my team.

Do you think he signs with NMSU, UNLV, Western Illinois or San Jose Sate so he can play the Gophers and prove how great he is? I can see him getting a scholly from one of them (depending on their numbers). Or does he rejoin Brewster at Mississippi State???

I doubt he even walks on in the B1G. We'll probably never really hear from him again. Truthfully, he was a medium sized fish at a pretty barren pond. Anyplace that had decent receivers he'd be buried in the depth chart.

He'll end up somewhere, but my sense is it won't be any where great. The bulk of his stats came in three games. Acting like a primadonna and attacking a very popular coach among his peers probably didn't win him any points.

Barker was a good wideout for us but I got so frustrated at how he never came up with the 50/50 balls.

Agree with you there which really points at just how bad our other receivers are because a very average overall receiver by Big Ten and National standards was far and away the best receiver on our team. Even missing 4 1/2 games there is no one within a 200 (actually 300) yards of him on our leader board for the season.

Not to be a pr*ck, but do you think Sandusky's victims feel that way?

Without a doubt, AJ Barker would play and be a key contributor at Mankato. They might not want him for his personality issues, but he is a legit Division 1 BCS conference caliber WR. He could contribute in the Big 10, he could contribute in Mankato.

I would guess they haven't spent much time thinking about A.J. Barker.

And my guess is they would have rather foregone the experience that supposedly would make them stronger.

Isn't it funny that the trainer hasn't quit because he was "bullied" and yelled at in public by AJ. Must be a stronger man.

something tells me that if Barker winds up playing at a school that is on the Gophers' schedule next year, he will find out exactly how his ex-teammates feel about him - the 1st time he runs a crossing pattern and Wells or one of the LB's have a shot at him...............................................(please, oh please let this happen.............................)

How do you know what ex teammates think? They could be on his side for all we know.
