I don't really think so. Have to think if he goes somewhere else he is probably kind of starting out at year 1 again too when worked hard to get to how it is now. He has some solid recruits coming too and probably pick up some in the portal. He needs a year to hopefully get all the rivalry trophies to stay in MN at once!
PJ is capital-A ambitious. He would 100% run into a flaming dumpster fire at Wisconsin if they gave him enough money.

Y’all are frustrated with Minnesota’s stagnation these last few years?

Imagine how the “I want to win a national championship at Minnesota guy” must feel.

He’s gotta be itching to take the next step. Either here or somewhere else if it’s not happening here.

Minnesota needs to be ready to pay him, his coordinators, and his players.

Also, his recruiting doesn’t change. He stole as much of WMU’s program as he could when he left. He will do the same to us if he ever gets the chance.

He would take his players and his coaches with him.

Not a chance. Might be time to check the dosage...

I just can't read through 4 pages of comments on this topic. No... he is not going anywhere.

There is a really good chance he is a serious contender for some openings this off-season.

It wouldn't surprise me to see him being poached by a UNC or Kentucky.
Someone brings this subject up every year. Until PJ says he is going somewhere else give in a rest.

PJ could be tempted to go elsewhere at some point, but UNC or Kentucky “poaching” him?

Kentucky is an afterthought in the SEC. We are more relevant in the B1G than Kentucky is in the SEC. It’s a lateral move at best.

UNC? Maybe if just wants a more famous college brand to put on his quarter zip. But UNC is a basketball school above all. Maybe there’s a better shot at winning the ACC or sneaking into the CFP as a runner up in the ACC than there is finishing top 3-4 in the B1G. Still, a lateral move.

I’d be more worried about a desperate USC, Auburn, etc. But I still wouldn’t be worried.

PJ is not a SEC coach. His program and recruiting style is not a fit for the southeast or a helmet school and the highly rated recruits who 'don't play school'. PJ recruits and builds programs like a cross between IA/WI and the military/academic schools. Notre Dame is the only school that would ever make sense for him to move onto, if they were ever interested.

He's the perfect match for Minnesota. He does things his way and as long as the consistent 6-8 win seasons, beating rivals, the occasional 9+ win season, coupled with no off field issues continue, he will be here as long as he wants to continue coaching. You don't give up that type of stability/support to get run out of the SEC after a few years.

There are few places that are great fits as well as Minnesota is for fleck.
Most schools clearly better than Mn as jobs wouldn’t like flecks branding or play style.
I can’t see a school from the Deep South or west coast wanting fleck…at least not the ones better than MN.

That leaves very few schools as fits that are good enough for him to leave

I read the first page, and I had enough of this nonsense. Agreed. He isn't going everywhere. People who either are trolls or don't like Fleck for some reason always start these sort of weird threads

Keep in my PJ is from Chicago and has stated he likes living in a big metro area like MSP. I'd be surprised if he took a job in a college town.

His wife has said similar

He would like the UCLA job, the northwestern job, the Rutgers job, the Maryland job, the Pitt job, the Georgia tech job

But not better than a program he has already established here.

Good grief, you forgot the Boston College job, the NYU job, the Temple University job, the Miami U job, the University of North Florida job, the Tulane job, the Houston job, the SMU job, the Arizona State job, the USC job, the University of San Fransisco job, the University of Portland job, the Washington job, and, while we're at it, the Sorbonne job because Paris is, like, a really big city. I know speculation is one of the lifebloods of GH, but enough with the declarations like you actually know something. Happy he's here; can't control what he'll do.

Koi's an old-style small-town homer and I respect that. He'll be an all-time Gopher great, go to the NFL and might even make the hall of fame. He'll retire and open a bar in Esko where he can hang out with he's old buddies and hunt and fish.
Not putting him done. It's just my guess.
Putting him down?.....hell that sounds like an awesome life. :)

It will be interesting to see if any coaches run from the SEC/B1G to ACC or B12.
Easier to win in those conferences but in this landscape giving up the stability of the Big Ten or SEC would be tough.

I don't think he is going anywhere but a thread already exists for this topic

Top 3-4 in SEC/B1G likely better than needed 1-2 in ACC/B12.

My guess is 7-5 5-4 will not get you 6th place very often in the B1G in future years.

You might want to relax

There are 81 losses to go around

There aren’t going to be 6 teams 6-3 or better every year
Especially if some teams have 0 or 1 loss

Fleck is gonna win 6-8 games here every single year. Thats basically his floor, and that will NEVER get him fired considering MN loves being “not bad.”

Tough for anybody to want to leave that situation. Make piles of money in a comfortable job as long as he doesn’t under perform he’s safe

As you get older in older in life, priorities can change .

Especially when you get to a point where you have enough money and don’t need to be chasing cash. At the juncture, fit can become paramount.

Theres a lot to be said for not having to manage up. PJ has the now with the U and Coyle; likely not the case with a bigger spotlight, at a new gig.

The gophers literally have fired Multiple coaches who had 6 wins as the floor

Mason and claeys

It’s the old Gopherhole overreaction. We lose one and want him gone and we win one and we thing the blue bloods are gonna pouch him. Both are silly.
