What happened to get to 8 conference wins and we'll be okay?

Am I imagining that discussion? I do a lot of drugs, so it's possible.
 



I voted no. I think they need 2 tournament wins and will come up just short. Hope I am wrong though

The question is did Gophers finish 7th or 10th???

I think Gophers will make it. In my billion $ bracket though, I'll pick all the B1G teams to be out no later than the 3rd round. This was a very weak year when Nebraska makes it to the 4th.
 



I voted no. Will take 2 wins in the BTT and I don't see them beating Wisconsin on Friday. Those losses to Northwestern & Purdue are the daggers.

I agree. I think most of the Big Ten teams will get elimimated quickly. I would be shocked if more than two teams makes it to the Sweet 16.

I'm a believer to the Golden Gophers will take care of business, and make it to the NCAA tourney. If you believe it you shall receive it.
 



I voted yes. This team can beat whoever they play as we've seen this season. I won't put anything past this team. I have a feeling it's about a 50-50 shot if we only win 1 at the BTT but if we win 2 I think it's just about a lock.
 

My buddy Dave says if we beat PSU and then Wisconsin we'll get a #3 or #4 seed.

Not a typo.
 

I wouldn't bet money on it. I hope they do though.

That was a real discussion. After people realized we weren't getting to 9-9, they tried to justify us getting in at 8-10 and ended up convincing a lot of people that that is all we needed.

Your buddy Dave sounds like a smart man. Has he tried applying for the selection committee?
 


I think the B1G is weak in the respect that the top of the conference is down. It wouldn't surprise me if the Gophers win two games....and that is what it will take to make the tournament in my opinion. I could be wrong but I think one win will leave us disappointed next Sunday. A week ago I thought
8-10 with a win in the BTT would be enough.....now I get a bad feeling about that.

It's not just that. If half the close games the past week had gone our way instead of almost all going against us, one win might be enough.
 

Whether we make it or not, I believe that Pitino has demonstrated that he can coach. That should help recruiting. If we don't make it, hopefully we make a deep run in the NIT.
 

They are 49th in the RPI rankings before today's game. I'd say they are going to squeak into the tournament field.
 

I would like to think we control our own destiny but Nebraska is holding our golden ticket. I do not think they want to give it up... If Nebraska win one in the BTT, we can look forward to a game against North Buckaroo State at the Barn.

Until we lose we control our own destiny...
 

lots of ball to be played. At this point we hold our destiny in our own hands. This team can get hot and beat anyone in the Big Ten. I have no doubt this team will be ready to play. Let's take care of PSU and see what happens around us. You never know this time of year the way things will break.

Nebraska has less than nothing to do with it now. They're in. Providence, Xavier, Cal, etc. are not. Iowa is not yet either. It is not the Gophers vs Nebraska. Let's move on from that narrative.
 

I think two wins may be needed. Also depends on how the other bubble teams perform

I think it's laughable that some people still think Nebraska is in danger of a snub. We need them in anyway, because there's no way the committee would pick an 8-10 team over an 11-7 team. You can't argue that the Big Ten is one of the two best conferences, and rationalize Nebraska being left out.
