On these are the posters that give you fans a bad name. I don't buy the whole developing thing. He just got stronger and is one of the hardest working college basketball players I've ever seen.

That would be known as developing

Based on what information?

Field Goal Percentage:

Joe Coleman: 51.5%
Austin Hollins: 41.7%
Nate Wolters: 45.7%

FG% doesn't tell you that Wolters gets to the line at a much higher clip than either Hollins or Coleman. True shooting percentage does:

Wolters: 56.2%
Hollins: 55.2%
Coleman: 56.7

So he's just as efficient despite taking quite a few more shots per game.

Turnovers:

Joe Coleman: 2.3/game
Austin Hollins: 1.3/game
Nate Wolters: 2.3/game

Of course, you're not accounting for the fact that Wolters plays about ten more minutes per game and handles the ball much more than either Coleman or Hollins. Wolters only turns the ball over in 12.4% or his personal possessions (a personal possession being a possession that ends with that player making a shot, missing a shot that the defense rebounds, or turning it over). Coleman and Hollins each turn the ball over in 23.9% and 15.3% of their possessions.

And Wolters is shooting against smaller, slower players.

And he's done it against bigger, faster players. Against Washington. Against Baylor. Against Alabama. Against New Mexico.

I'm curious. How do Nate's stats compare to Steph Curry's. Both are/were elite scores who shot the ball a lot and struggled on defense. Not saying Wolters is as good as Curry, just curious is all.

This is comical. Wolters would certainly start for the Gophers. End of discussion.

Wolters may not be a great defender, but he's also not asked to do much defending. Just like Fredette, I think SDSU wants to keep Wolters fresh for offense.

This is a silly poll. Wolters is a great player. Right now all five gopher starters are great players. Would Wolters be our best player.....No. Would he start for the gophers.....probably. Does he play the same type of competition MN players do......No. How would his game look playing for a big ten team, especially one like MN that stresses top notch defense as priority number one.....who knows. Tubby picked his five starters. He did a good job, I say let it rest.

I agree this is a silly poll. You can't use stats for one guy who is in one situation and project them to another situation. He doesn't have the players around him he would at the U, wouldn't get the shots or minutes, hasn't and won't play against the same competition and isn't playing in the same system he would at the U. He is a good player yes, but I don't think he would be our best player and I don't think he wold start. I don't think the Ingram comparison is good at all, because I think he would contribute more than he would. For me it would be between B and C and I would feel very comfortable having him come off the bench.
