How does wearing Iowa colors help the Gopher program? I may just be an old fogey, but this makes no sense to me.

If you go to the game tonight and intentionally don't wear black, you are not a friend of this program.
If wearing Iowa colors is required for me to be a friend of the program, I unfriend it. No black for m!

I agree...field a high quality team, and stay with tradition, do you think wisconsin would wear black? A white out would be fine, and very appropriate in our weatherDo the people that create these marketing ideas even go to the games, do they have any idea about their fan base, almost an insult to one's intelligence, I guess the school colors are now maroon, gold, and black, the it color will probably be something else next year, so much for an identity, hard for us old guys to change I guess.

It means the young pups don't like our school colors. Too bad, they're very good colors.
So why aren't the cows in the student section CERTIFIED black angus ???
shirts in the stands do not win games....players and coaching do
Blackout with blonde, white faced(lack of sun) Scanaduvians....Brilliant.
Ha! I thought the same thing...all the white faces cancelled out the black.
But I predicted when they announced this that black wouldn't be impressive at all on TV, and IMO I was right. It looked flat and really you couldn't tell that the entire crowd was wearing the same color. That's why more TV-friendly colors like white and bright colors (like our neon gold?) are better for these types of things.
It looked pretty good in the arena. You could tell that the large majority of people in maroon and gold were old scrooges with the nicer seats, but overall the participation was very good. The upper deck was almost entirely black. I'd guess 75% participation.

I thought it looked great - I loved that the cheerleaders, dance team and Goldy were all in the black t-shirts and looked great. It was fun!
AND
Its a good looking shirt! I'll be glad when it warms up and I can wear it more. I hope they do it again next year, and that people quit whining.
