Did Florida and Miami coach searches fare better than Minnesota?

It doesn't matter, because Golden will be coaching at Miami, not at The U.

+1! Miami has been trying to brand itself as "The U", and I like that we are fighting back. We've been using "The U" longer than they have. And in general, people use "The U" to refer to "University of <insert State here>", just like "State" refers to "<Insert State here> State University".

I remember a couple years ago, when people would refer to Minnesota here as "The U", people would always say "What, Miami?" Good thing those people were fought off. Calling Miami "The U" and expecting the whole country to do so is like the Cowboys being "America's team".

This again?

You're going to be so mad when you watch Monday Night Football tonight.

has Bryant McKinnie been fought off yet, I'll check tonight.

I think the Gophers did well in their coach search. Their search was not even remotely the same as Florida or possibly Miami. It is one thing when all the top coaching candidates approach you, it is another when you have to approach them. Most likely our dream list of coaches all contacted Florida about the job rather than waiting for Florida to contact them.

Your Grading

Just as important to Florida as getting Muschamp is that many seem to think that Muschamp is somehow going to lure Kirby Smart away from Alabama. Those two have had similar paths and have been friends for a long time. There is no possible way that the Gator's defense wouldn't be crazy good.

If I were grading here is how I would go

Florida- A+++ Anyone who would have hired Muschamp would have gotten an A+++
Minnesota- C+ Points deducted for length and underwhelming name-although a great coach
Miami- D With there history Golden is a completely underwhelming name to hire
Indiana- B- With there history they couldn't have hoped for much better
Colorado- F When you have have to ask who they hired for the 74th time it tells you all you need to know

How can you rate these hires like this with any degree of intelligence?
Muschamp - Never been a head coach anywhere
Golden - only been a head coach at one place , but at least he has turned around a program
Indiana - Kevin Wilson - Never been a head coach anywhere
Colorado - How can you give that a F to him and An A+++ to Muschamp? Criteria?
Minnesota - Kill a C+ He is the only coaching hire you list who has been a HC at 4 different places and has won and turned around everyone.

I rate your grades an F.

Did Butch Davis really have swagger when he built the Miami program back up? Working under Jimmy Johnson certainly helped but he seems like a pretty no none sense type coach.

Colorado- Jon Embree (TE coach- Washington Redskins)
Last time i heard of a NFL TE coach getting hired to become a college head coach it didnt fare too well.. I think his name was Timmy... Tim Brewster.. yeah idk. Colorado might be in the dumps for the next 5 years lol
