Well that settles it, then.
I know for a fact the first suspension was because of pot. But go ahead and ignore it, it doesn't fit your agenda.
Well that settles it, then.
I know for a fact...
By the way, please share with us how you know the drug accusation(s) are "fact." Settle the debate, please.
your a dbag and your wrong! your making sh*t up and you sound like a a**hole! devoe was recruited because of his abilities and his style of play. good coaches get the most out of their talent, they don't change the player! also devoe had a nice shooting percentage for all of his out of control shots.
just quit making things up
If I know, I'm sure Doogie or Myron know it was twice on the pot thing. Care to comment gentlemen?
Is there a source behind this? Not saying you're lying, I just have never seen it before. Easily could have missed it
From the Oregon site:
“I talked with Tubby Smith a couple of times about him coming and joining our team and Tubby thought it was a good move for both Devoe and our program,” Altman said. “I’ve known Tubby for a long time. I think it’s going to be a win-win. We need some help, some leadership. We’ve got a good freshman class coming in and we’re excited that he’s joined our team. ...
“(Smith) recommended very strongly that we take him. I think it worked out for both of us.”
Now who strongly recommends a pothead to another coach?
The players know (and most didn't/don't care that he was smoking tree).
Many students know.
Myron knows.
Marcus knows.
Anyone with any kind of connection to the program knows.
The only people who don't know, and won't accept it as fact, are Quitter apologists like Chief, lakes, and geegee who continually demand to see the actual test results that got the little Quitter suspended. There was more coming, as well. Apparently missing 20% of his junior season wasn't enough for the Quitter to get his mind right.
Maybe someone who, after dealing/trying to work with this pothead for months, wants the pothead to go away?
Yeah right...so he hands him off to a good friend and fellow coach. He also tried to convince the kid to stay here. Yeah, nice logic.
Happens all of the time.
I never said Tubby was trying to change Devoe. Tubby has little time for someone who plays suspect defense and wanted to be the star in the DevoeShow.
Devoe did shoot a pretty solid percentage over his career. And, however juvenile, I'm fine with being a dbag, and even an a**hole. You're entitled to your opinion. But just so we're clear: I'm not making things up.
and for the clown that is the spell check police-life must have been tough living in a locker!
this is a msg board(oops I spelled message wrong) no one cares if anyone forgets the "e" in "you're" or other forms of punctuation
It's sort of ironic that you are calling me a clown, isn't it? And actually, I grew up in a very nice suburban home.
That's fine. But you're wrong about that. But if you're fine looking like an idiot; to each his own.
Can I have your brother's name and phone number? (It was your suggestion, right?) I'd like to verify your source.
my brother is a strength coach at the u of mn. he is very close to the program, he has verified with players and coaches there was not a 2nd suspension for team violations! also, if your going to trash a kid for smoking pot and look down on him for doing so, stop watching college and professional athletics. do you want my brothers number @ the u of mn? unless you give me a name or how your source is more reliable than mine, I'm going to believe you have an agenda to trash devoe.

my brother isn't the basketball teams strength coach but does work with them he works with a couple other sports however. just so we are clear and I'm told I'm wrong and they are right because they spoke to a girl who dated a friend of a guy who knows devoe from a class they took together when they were freshmen
I love run on sentences that tell me nothing. "banghead"
Generally speaking, you can always tell when someone has admitted defeat in an internet war. They resort to spelling and/or grammar as a substitute for intelligent input.
You keep saying that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

A coach who is trying to move a pothead, trouble-making distraction off his team. Happens all the time, just ask Fred "the Mayor" Hoiberg.
I don't think Tubby recommended Devoe to get rid of him. Even though they had their disagreements, Tubby is a high-class guy and will do what is best for his coaching peers and players. I believe Tubby felt Oregon would be a good fit for Devoe and help him to learn from mistakes.
