SIAP: Spoke with a “Golden Dunker “ today who was told by “the staff” that Evens is getting $1MM to go to Louisville.
Assume that is probably total compensation spread out over multiple seasons but yeah, would be tough to pass up that kind of money.

High school stats
His high school team is in division 3. They were 17 and 14. He averaged 14 and 10.
So, it's a gigantic leap to make a $1million dollar impact vs Big Ten or ACC competition.
Not sure how this ends well. Expectations are going to be difficult to live with.

Well, there are several sides here...you following through on the money deal for a guy sitting on the bench? Coaches expecting him to be a savior could be disappointed and relationships could get ugly. Dennis could have high expectations for himself and not be able to meet them making him feel miserable. And 1000 more scenarios which are there for everyone but in the case of Dennis Evans he is a long shot to make a million dollar impact which is going to make several people unhappy if it turns out that he is unproductive, including himself.
Money does not buy happiness.

Sounds like you want to make an investment in Evans on behalf of Ben

That's a no brainer then, he would of been a fool not to take it.
Yep - the kid made a smart business decision, and anyone who says otherwise is a fool.

Just curious. When does he see this money? Already in bank account or when he scores 3.2 points next year?

eYeah no kidding! Would have been nice to have Evans obviously, and im sure he'll score more than 3.2, but will he be worth a million dollars? Not many people are!
Expectations have been raised, I would guess it will be tough to live up to them, I have no problem with that, they should not get a pass. They're just college kids shouldn't apply in these cases.

Do you really want that “girl” that who jilted you to go with the big boy with the convertible ? I don’t. Hit the road Dennis, you are replaceable. You won’t be missed.

That's a lot.
maybe not to some programs. for me, NIL seems to be getting a bit out of control. word is Iowa is offering wrestler Bernie Truax a $250K NIL deal - a wrestler!

the money probably means more to a wrestler since very few wrestlers get a full ride. but $250k!?
