Dawson Garcia returning

That, and maybe even what Carolina did with the Bears. Trade up to get Young, all while giving the Bears a haul AND letting them get Caleb Williams with Carolina's pick the following year.

Hard to screw it up that bad. But you're right, Watson is the worst trade of them all.
If I know the Bears, they will fail despite the steal on the trade. Their fans tell me that.

Garcia is 100% trying to get 1 more year based on the North Carolina year. Whether he gets it or not……who knows, but I know for 100% certain he applied for it.

Why not, he is looking at 1,000,000 plus in nil

I’d argue that Herschel Walker was the worst. Although the others mentioned were bad, I think both parties knew what they were getting and giving up. I believe Mike Lynn didn’t understand what he would be giving up when he acquired Herschel. While giving up a boatload of valuable roster players, he lost both them and the draft picks he promised if those players weren’t on the Cowboys roster the next year. Jimmy Johnson cut or traded all of them and used those picks to build a dynasty. The Vikings slumped. Walker wasn’t a great fit in the Vikings offense. Mike Lynn became a laughingstock. It’s still the measuring stick for terrible trades.
IF you are going to trade the franchise for Herschel you have to overuse him. I looked into once and if memory serves, his max carries in any game was 17 or 18. I would have ran him a min of 25 carries per game. Also I would have never pulled the trigger on that trade.

Ummm yeah......we aren't talking about Dawson anymore in this thread.... :)

But in all seriousness it makes sense for a guy like Dawson to try an stay in college in this current environment as opposed to going pro where he has a solid shot at making it but isn't a sure thing by any stretch of the imagination and might have to go overseas potentially.

He would stand to make a ton of money from us or someone else if he gets another year of eligibility.

We all know Gopherhole threads wander and rarely stay on topic once they get beyond a few pages.....but impressive to see a thread about Garcia returning turn into one about NFL trades from a long time ago.... :)

We should get back on track with tributes to Hüsker Dü & R.E.M.

Agreed.

Run jim Or do the Chuck Foreman thing. Herschel would have been the man in space.

Anyhow you got to use him. He was a yards from scrimmage machine. Who cares if he gets 50 on a play. Getting 4 everytime with our Oline back then would have been like Death and taxes.

Herschel getting the ball would have made that Defense even stronger. The ball was ours.

Would have been nice if Mike Lynn would have realized it was Jerry Burns problem.

Also, i don’t think the picks would have mattered as much of we kept ike Holt and Jesse Solomon. I think that conditional nonsense was the real problem in the trade portion.
