Dawson Garcia returning

I’m pretty sure this guy is trolling. As indicated, he’s out of eligibility. More practically, he’s not committing to come back without some spokeals.

You're probably right. I guess I don't expect people to do that for no reason. Another reminder that no matter how low I rate humanity, it sometimes isn't low enough.

Magic Johnson didn't use up his eligibility. He loves the MN winters so he's going to be a Gopher in the fall. You heard it here first. "Hey, is that bigfoot?"
You joke, but Bobby Jackson played two years at a Juco....Humpries and Pryzbilla have some left too.

If we are being serious, I almost wouldn't want Garcia back. Loved having him and am looking forward to seeing where his career takes him. I'm ready to cut ties and move to the next chapter for Gophers basketball.

He's a top 10 player in the B1G. It's not like he's a locker room problem or something. Of course you would take another year from him. Any coach would.

I’ve actually heard the opposite. He’s a total locker room cancer. He needs to be gone.

I’m trolling. Just like the OP. I feel like OP was poking fun at the Medved steam and wanted to create his own rumor (that he felt was egregious).

Would love me one more year of DG!

His parent was sick and moved closer to be by them and didn’t finish the year when North Carolina played for the title?

He played way over the limit of season lol.

People can talk all day on the legitimacy of him quitting on that season, but either way there's zero rule in place that gives him an extra year

I completely agree, I can't even squint at the rules and see an argument where he could possibly be granted another year of eligibility.

So I'd say it's 50/50.

Makes no sense. If some bolt from heaven gave Garcia an extra year, he could command probably $2 million somewhere like Coleman did when transferred from Illinois to Kansas State. Either way, Garcia’s not putting on the maroon and gold again.

Update. This from a very, very reliable source:

There was a meeting which included the team, coaches, Coyle.
Shortly after the meeting started, Garcia stood up, handed the ball he was holding to a student manager, then walked quietly to the front and told Coyle that he had something to say. Coyle told him he better say what he had to say. Garcia faced the room and said he reckoned it was time for him to start playing ball for a 6th year. However there was just one thing, "Coach stays, I play. Coach goes, I go!"
Pandemonium! Bedlam!
Coyle tried to quiet the room.
Then suddenly someone called for a re-vote.
Realizing he was the only voter, Coyle ripped up his prepared speech and announced, "COACH STAYS."

Ben is back!

well, OP here, I don’t care at all if you guys believe me, but yeah Dawson’s coming back. No argument about it, no trolling.

wouldn't surprise me if there's a court challenge to the NCAA's eligibility rules, seeking unlimited eligibility. if a player can make good money staying in school and playing, courts might rule denying someone an income out of bounds
