Anyone seen Cory around? Please no more Applebees!

I say Arby's....no one can resist that Roast Beef and Cheddar and curly fries CURLY FRIES!!!

Why not Applebees? It worked with Eliason!

Cory may be a more expensive date, lol!

AK is right, the team went to the Wolves game...which I would probably fall asleep at, but apparantly the players enjoy ;). I guess Lebron is playing, he never played in college, so I don't think I've ever seen him play. Seriously.

I'm feeling ya on that one GopherLady. Watched the first quarter and a bit of the second and I almost knodded off twice. That's the NBA for you.

But hey, if Cory and the rest of the team enjoyed it, great!!!!:)

I think it's an advantage for Gophers to have an NBA team in town. Few colleges can say that. The presence of pro sports in the Twin Cities is a plus factor in Gopher recruiting for several sports.

FOT, you're probably right. I'm just all worn out on pro sports for the most part, with the T-Wolves ranking near the bottom. Like I said, if Cory and the guys like it, then great. It just isn't my thing.

Just sat next to Cory Joseph in the Football game student section. He was with Rodney Williams his brother, and Cobbs. Seemed to be having a good time.

With you on pro sports. Not a fan of any of them except MLB and the Twins

One current advantage is that students (on a limited budget) can take in a wolves game for $10 or less.

I saw him walking down fraternity row with his brother and half of the basketball team

I talked to him at the game for a couple of minutes. Our section got a "We want Joseph" cheer going. He smiled and acknowledged our cheer. Hopefully this will help put him in Maroon and Gold.

Nice work Mayne Street. Did anyone see any love being sent from the student section?

Real nice work Mayne Street...Wish that I could've heard/seen that!

Saw pretty much the whole team on University. I was pretty gonzo but i ran into rodney williams, asked him if he remembered dunking on me 3 years ago. He didnt. I for sure yelled for Cory though, he seemed like he was having a good time.

Toronto is an amazing city with a cool vibe. I'd take him and family to Brasa in NE.

I REALLY like Brasa, but if I was entertaining a group of high school/college males on a reasonably unlimited budget, I'd take them to Fogo de Chao, and plan on it being a looong dinner.

Rotisserie Brasa is great, especially when it's nice out and the garage doors are open ... Same could be said for Restaurant Alma, but in a different way. Alex Roberts has it going on....but I don't think either would be that big of a 'hit' with young college basketball players ... Something like Market BBQ would seem like a better match.

I threw it out because NE reminds me of what I remember about the best of Toronto.

My mom and my sister have been trying to get me to go to Restaurant Alma for almost two years now. Every time I come down to the cities, they mention it and try to get reservations, but haven't been able to yet. But they rave about the place, so I'm kind of making it a personal mission to get over there sometime I have had the chance to eat at Brasa however, and like you said, that place is awesome!!!! In regards to feeding a recruit, Brasa might be okay because it's pretty informal. But I agree, based on what I've heard, Restaurant Alma might be a little over the top.

Alma's definitley one of the best in the twin cities. But I'm stunned that you've had such bad luck with reservations. I don't think I've ever been turned down (and they don't know me from Adam), and when I checked on opentable just now, I couldn't find a single nite that was booked (of course I didn't try that hard, either.)

Keep trying--it's worth it. As noted above, Brasa is great, but Alma's at a whole differnt level. Having said that, I wouldn't have wanted to go there as a teen. The meals aren't big enough, and I wouldn't have appreciated the culinary skill.

And to Freshtrout--yeah, either market or rudolphs would be a great choice.

All signs have pointed towards a good visit, but can anyone confirm?

I was watching the game next to one of the assistants and Cory and Devoe came down several times and we're always smiling and laughing and no doubt they look like they have a great releationship. They didn't seem all that interested in the football game, but we're enjoying the atmosphere. Esposito and Tubby came down later but just missed the Joseph brothers, Rodney, and Cobbs who all left early in the fourth. Everything I saw and heard sounds real good for MN but far from a lock, I think Texas and UConn remain the biggest competition. Mom Joseph really wants the brothers to play together.

Yeah, I admit I don't know what is up with the reservations thing. Then again, I'm not the one who calls, so, who knows? But I have heard the same thing from everybody in my family that has eaten there, so I'll keep plugging away until I get there. My mom and my sister are what you might consider "foodies," (my sister attended the French Culinary Institute in NYC) so they keep up with what's happening in terms of the food scene.

I really liked Brasa. Probably a better place for a recruit because, like you said, it's BBQ (which most college age kids like) and it's a less formal place. A place like Alma definitely sounds a little more upscale and for the more mature diner.

As an aside, I like the Market a lot as well and I used to frequent Rudolphs when I was younger. But I haven't been there in a long time. Is it still as good as it used to be?
