Cole Cabana Commit to Minnesota

Taylor goes pro after next year and Cabana takes the spot?

This feels like another year of "well we don't love the QB/WR room so we're going to be 4th in the country in runs per game behind the service academies". Added 3 rb to Taylor plus a blocking TE. We might be very boring next year. Not saying we can't be successful but not a lot of 48-45 games.

I didn't expect this after the two earlier RB commits.

This should solidify the running game assuming we can get the OL situated.

Given that there will be inexperience at QB no matter who PJ goes with, a solid running game can take the pressure off of the QB.

Solid day for the Gophs!

Wow. The glass half empty view must suck.

What an odd take after the day today, which includes WR talent btw

Also, have you met PJ? We're not play 48-45 games lmao. He's a complimentary style coach. Gonna shorten the game and run the ball. Throw in short passing to the backs like this year. Shit, 35-31 maybe you could hope for. 27-21 is probably PJs bread n butter

I mean, or its an attempt to improve what was a relatively lackluster running game from this past year and has nothing to do with the coaches perception of how good our QBs and WRs are going to be next year . . . .

Love the speed and versatility that Cabana and Turner bring! The staff has done more than enough to replace talent from departures/recruiting flips.

I was really high on Ijeboi though. Hopefully he sticks around. Wright could still fill the “thunder” roll as most of these guys are towards the lighter side.

I gotta say, almost every time I have start to worry about Fleck and the roster it’s clear that he at least has some plan. I don’t know how much NIL is playing in here but the results speak for themselves.

Go get some defenders and next year could be even more fun!

We added 3 RBs last year even with Taylor and Nubin coming back. And 2 of those 3 were one and done guys. This year 2 of 3 have more than one year of eligibility left. The moves aren’t always just for one year.

We took three backs in the portal last year as well. I don't think it means what you think it means

I dont get this thinking, the rb depth chart seems very normal now.

1.Taylor
2.AJ Turner
3-5 in whatever order you think
Cam Davis
Cole Cabana
Fame Ijeboi
6-8 likely wont make an impact next year
Wright coming off knee injury and the 2 incoming freshman

Never ceases to amaze me how some people are always expecting bad things to happen. Seems like it would suck to live life as a pessimist but to each their own I guess.

I think your takes are all dumb too, let's call it even 🤣.

Never once did I say this was a negative, we are screwed, dumb, etc move. I was making an observation that we added 3 RB recently who appear to be ready to produce guys. Along with a stud RB coming back logic dictates we are going to be more run heavy than this year with Brosmer DJ Spencer etc. That's no issue at all, I am good with that, simply a note. Chill hardo's....

Edit for reference: run % last 3 years, 66% 60% 47%. I think we trend closer to 60% this year with these moves. Sorry for making an observation, I guess I hit a nerve 😅

You need to have a little conviction in your opinions. You clearly thought it was a negative. You implied we are doing it because of a failure in recruiting other positions and I don’t think you meant it as compliment when you compared our offense to the service academies. Now, I disagree with you and that’s okay but stop pretending that you weren’t implying this was a negative. That’s not how men should act.

As to the point of your post, i think we might be more run heavy next season because we lost our QB, best two WR and one of the best LTs in college football, but I just not at all see how you can tie that into this signing.

Two of the RBs we signed are known for catching passes and we essentially have our starter, big back (guy from wazzou) and 2-3 guys are going to fight for 2RB snaps. I think our running back room is better but similar in depth to last year.

"Not saying we can't be successful"

Yeah, so these are all positive takes in your world? I'd hate to see negative...are you kicking service dogs?!? 😂😂😂😂

Couldn't have summarized it better, thank you

I apologize for all comments. We will be the best team in the country next year. It will be unfair how we have the best two quarterbacks in the country. We will be the first team in history to have all 4 Heisman finalists. Javon Tracy will be compared to Randy Moss. #CONVICTION

🤣 observations that aren't glowingly positive don't have to be negative. I think it's fair to say adding Pyron means the staff isn't sold 100% on Lindsey. That by no means says he cant be really really good, but I'd hazard a guess we don't get Pyron if Brosmer was atop the QB chart. I'm on record saying I actually like Pyron more than most in limited duty at GT I thought he was a nice piece.

I made a point we added a lot of good RB talent, logic would dictate we'd want to use that talent more. I like the Tracy add too, so I'm not implying we will throw for 45 yards a game. Shesh some of you are blow hards....

Dude...you were being negative. Just own it. You can be negative if you want. Just don't expect everyone to agree with your opinion.
