Cody Lindenberg

As a CR grad, it's incredibly difficult to root for a Pumpkinhead but this kid has been a great player for our program. I hope he comes back.

I'm guessing NFL. Saw an NFL scouting tweet on him yesterday, I think. They liked his size for NFL.

How does a player like Cody evaluate his chances in the next NFL draft?

Does he rely on, say, an agent to gather intelligence? Predicting the NFL draft is always a bit of a guessing game.

He should be trying to figure out if another year at Minnesota would improve his draft position. With his history of injuries, probably not.

NFL is all about the combine. Is Cody fast enough to test well?
Next year with the Gophers could be the best year of his life. He's going to get a few hundred thousand dollars if he stays and plays for the Gophers, not to mention business street cred post graduation in Minnesota with a good season.

It's probably not as easy a decision for Cody as it is for Aireontae Ersery.

Cody's a linebacker, and he has a history of injury. Aireontae is an offensive tackle and he's been on the NFL radar almost from the beginning.

Where would you guess each of them would be drafted? I'd say Ersery will go early.

I agree. No idea on Lindenburg

He’s not listed in top 20 LB prospects anywhere I could find so I’d guess hes a late rounder but I’m no scout…

Can’t see a way another year at mn helps him so I think he goes this year unless the scout grade is unddrafted (don’t think this is likely) and then he comes back because he loves the program.

Would expect he leavrs and is a round 5-7 grade and is a crap shoot on being drafted but all it takes is one place to fall in love with you

I don’t think playing another year affects his status at all. I think it all comes down to if he’s ready for the next phase of his career.

Only possible hickup is that he's healthy right now which improves his draft chances. If he comes back and gets hurt again, all bets are off.

I think the Gophers defense got a fair amount of attention this year and anyone watching tape on the Gophers would see Lindenberg standing out. If he's going to try the NFL this is going to be the season to do it. I don't know that the defense will be as strong next season and it might be just good timing for him as far as the amount of attention the defense was getting.
