Actually, it would seem that since Penn State had been beaten at the time he tweeted that, that what he said was factual. The Gophers are the only team * in * the tourney * not out * without a senior playing.

Well, technically he's right, it would depend on when he was told that information. Assuming it was last night, then he was right lol. Aren't technicalities fun?
 


Wow, this is grasping at straws at it's finest because of a technicality.
 

Sheesh...let's not parse this too far. Coach could have just tweeted "only team still in the tourney".

Coach? Or the basketball ops guy? Either way, no apology - he got bad information and ran with it. Not a big deal, just incorrect.

I'm not wrong - he was talking about the teams in the tournament. If someone meant "of teams remaining in the tournament" after the crap-round they would have said 'still' in the tourney, or 'left', 'remaining', etc. (Not to mention... does this constitute an injury update on RSIII?)

You know this how? Certainly, you've called the coach, spoke with him, and know exactly what was on his mind or what or when he was told what he was told when he tweeted that. It would appear that you've jumped to a conclusion, I'm just pointing it out.

Thanks for your vigilance. Jumping and concluding are two activities that cannot be tolerated on this forum.:rolleyes:
 



Kind of in the same vein, UK honored and played 2 seniors on senior night. Minnesota honored 2 and played 1 senior on senior day.

That, in my opinion, speaks to us as young team. The only difference is our young guys weren't 5-star studs and haven't been leaving early because of the NBA.

I know why he said it. Having a young team of mediocre players is not a good thing. Just which teams do you see MN jumping the next couple of years? Michigan State, Ohio State? Wisconsin? Indiana? Purdue? Michigan? Who?

Purdue and ah Wisconsin maybe I'll take a 6th place finish every year.

Senior center Ralph Sampson III missed both games with a sprained knee. Senior forward Trevor Mbakwe, who Smith expects to get a sixth year of eligibility, blew out his knee in November.

Maturi inaccurate on the "only team that didn't have a senior playing" claim... and Tubby with the wild expectations.. hopefully that's just not a PR move so that it turns into another 'tough break' for Smith.
 



Also, todays game means nothing to me. Even if we had won, which I was hoping we would, I wouldn't have changed my mind on Tubby. I am looking at 5 years of coaching, not one or two games.
 



Because you hate the team and like to see them lose. You have nothing to complain about after a W. It's pretty obvious, you've never posted one positive thing in this forum.

Thats a lie. I have over 1000 posts and they are all negative? This just in. Many fans of teams that finish 6-12 in consecutive years are down on their program and coach.
