Cedric Tomes commits!!!

Interesting… saw him three times last year and probably a dozen times overall.. I thought the offer by Ben when he made it was solid… IMO I question his quickness and power 5 athletic ability. Not real tall either. he has free reign at ER and will dribble like Curly Neal to get a shot off… I think his first year as a Gopher he will be the type you will be able to tell right away if he can handle the Big 10.. overall nothing to lose so worth the scholarship.. let’s go!

NIKO!!

Only watched him live 3 times last year but this is a solid get and a good start for the 2026 class

Thorson is a big fan of Cedric, hope he can be a great contributor here. Will be interesting to see him develop over the next year before he gets on campus.

Welcome Cedric!

Go Gophers!!

Number 32 ranked point guard.

I think that will go up!

They lost 8 games. I thought he was their best player.

Assuming this means gophers are out on Moore at least on the basketball side?

It's seeming like he's 100% going to football, 247 doesn't even show him as having any basketball interest at the moment. My guess is he's made it clear he'll be playing football at the next level.

Man, I know he's good at football, but professional options are just so much more limited. If I had any chance to go D3 college bball and play the next 15 years in Australia/Turkey/Korea/wherever then sign me up!

I can't believe that this is the proper mentality for a player to have if they think they can go pro :ROFLMAO:

Fresh Coast Hoops is just an awesome resource. Thanks for posting.

This is my first time watching him play. I like that he is aggressive. I don't love his offense (dribbles around until he shoots or gets stopped and then kicks it out). That said, he looks pretty skilled.

So does he have point guard skills? Or will it be one of those situations where he plays with a taller point guard like Asuma? So Asuma could guard a 2.

He has a lot of playground in his game at the high school level. Some of what Marcus Carr had. Gifted scorer, I could see him being a scorer of the bench while Niko gets him to tone down the flashiness a tad.

Be nice to have multiple ball handlers, point type guards. You take a guy like Bobby Jackson who wasn’t big he could probably guard three positions makes me think that two smaller guards providing they have quickness can play at the same time.

I don’t see Asuma as a small guard. 6-3 and probably will be 195 this year.
