per CBS:

Fans are starting to vote based on ticket sales. Over the past two years, Iowa has averaged 67,512 fans per game in 2014 and 67,125 in 2013. Before that, the Hawkeyes consistently averaged more than 70,000 fans.

Barta said season-ticket sales are down again for 2015, although he declined to say yet by how much until more data arrives in June. Earlier this spring, the Cedar Rapids Gazette reported that about 30,500 season tickets had been sold. Iowa sold 37,823 to the general public in 2014 after reaching 40,506 in 2011.

“The bottom hasn't fallen out, but we know we're going to be down,” Barta said. “Whatever we're down in season tickets, as I've told our staff, we're just going to have to work that much harder to sell single-game tickets, and then you're subject more to weather and winning.”

Go Gophers!!

Sounds like the Knick could turn into The South Bank for the Gophers game this fall.

Love the caption under the picture: "Kirk Ferentz has not finished better than 8-5 since 2009."

Finish with that record in Minnesota and you're a miracle worker!

I'm curious where we will be...let's not get too excited.

Can strangulation be legal for a day?

lets hope Iowa doesn't get rid of good ol Kirk they might get a coach that is good! lets keep them down and the best way to do that is with the same coach. let them suffer for many years

I don't think attendance is down just because of the coach. it is down all across the country at almost every university. length of games(due to TV) too much other things going on and the expense of going to games are other factors that are dropping attendance

With each year the buy out becomes less of a factor. He might make it through this season, but at that point all bets are off.

I think that Ferentzis safe for this season, he gets an extension, but there will be no change in the buyout costs. After next season I believe he'll be gone one way or another.
