per CBS:
Fans are starting to vote based on ticket sales. Over the past two years, Iowa has averaged 67,512 fans per game in 2014 and 67,125 in 2013. Before that, the Hawkeyes consistently averaged more than 70,000 fans.
Barta said season-ticket sales are down again for 2015, although he declined to say yet by how much until more data arrives in June. Earlier this spring, the Cedar Rapids Gazette reported that about 30,500 season tickets had been sold. Iowa sold 37,823 to the general public in 2014 after reaching 40,506 in 2011.
“The bottom hasn't fallen out, but we know we're going to be down,” Barta said. “Whatever we're down in season tickets, as I've told our staff, we're just going to have to work that much harder to sell single-game tickets, and then you're subject more to weather and winning.”
