Somehow Justin Wilcox gets fired from Cal and yet Mark Coyle and PJ Fleck are still employed at Minnesota. What gives?

Wilcox has been at Cal for nine seasons, with a conference record of 26-47.

Fleck has been at Minnesota for nine seasons, with a conference record 38-40.

So .. you know.

Three of the four major conference programs in CA have coaching vacancies. UCLA, Cal and Stanford.

I’d take him as PJ Flecks defensive coordinator…but he’ll get a hc job with all the idiotic coaching changes.

On top of that. Wilcox has never finished over .500 in conference play and best season was 8 wins in 2019. Outside of that season his best year was 7 wins in 2018 and every other season has finished under .500.

I've always been a fan of PJ... right now I am at the point where I would be ok if we went another direction. I still like him.... but he needs to change his best.

I’ve been pounding the table for Jon Sumrall for a couple years now. I think we’ve seen PJ’s ceiling.

I also think PJ has gotten comfortable and he knows exactly how good his teams need to be for him to not get fired.

Unfortunately, I don't think you're wrong.

He is smart enough to know if we beat Wisconsin we will leave excited and ready for next year.

You're right I'm sure PJ just wants to scrape by and do the absolute bare minimum. He's just like you on the forklift at Costco you guys are two peas in a pod.
