Let BYU do their thing, it’s their religion. I’m not Mormon but the reaction here is embarrassing. But it is Gopherhole….so you can expect it.

I think organized religion formally policing the sexual activity of other adults is embarrassing. That's messed up stuff.

Preach all they want about their ideas, policing other people's activity like this is a whole other world of wrong.

Jesus told them not to throw stones, but of course the folks running the religion are happy to do so, even organize it.

I'm not ripping BYU. They have rules and Retzlaff (thanks for the correction Gopher Pete) broke them and has the face the music. I am tweaking Retzlaff's reaction and the jokes write themselves. One could say that he was only trying to fill his missionary obligation.

Everyone needs to read Reinhold Niebuhr on the subject. Sex is part of who we are. It doesn't mean we should all run around naked and be absolute libertines, but the hand-wringing gets to be a bit much.

Yet those who point out the judgmental are not at all judgmental. It's an interesting place to be.

Judging and policing are two different things though. Judging is cheap, easy to do, and usually harmless.
