Honestly starting to think Lunardi has something against Minnesota(not really). As of now, he's somehow found a way to find room for at least FIFTEEN teams between Iowa and Minnesota in his at-large selections. Iowa is an 8 seed with an rpi of 53, a sos of 42, and a record of 20-11. Minnesota is a first four out team with an rpi of 49, a sos of 6, and a record of 18-12.
St John's has no business being ahead of Minnesota in any rational look at the bubble. They have an rpi of 56, a sos of 48, and a record of 20-11. In many ways they look identical to Iowa right? Well, St John's has ONE win all season against a team that will make the NCAA tournament in Creighton.
Providence is basically St John's with a worse strength of schedule (62) and a slightly better second best win over likely tournament team Xavier (they also beat Creighton).
None of this matters if Minnesota can't find a way to beat Penn State for a third time, but Gopher fans would have a major gripe with the hypothetical Lunardi committee if the season ended today.
