Bubblicious Wednesday: Ok State can lock themselves "in" today

DePaul not closing it out right now.....

DePaul hits their free throws down the stretch and knocks G'Town out of the running for an NCAA bid by a score of 60-56.

G-Town is done. Out. One less team to worry about.

7 of about 97 brackets had Georgetown in.

Big East could do us a really big favor, getting rid of 2-4 bubble teams in their tourney ... bracket sets up nicely now, especially if Marquette can knock off Xavier and St. John's beat Providence tomorrow. Creighton and Villanova take care of business, and Big East could be a 2 bid league.

Washington St. is only down a point to Stanford about 5:00 into the second half.

Oh man I'm getting excited. The brutally awful (10-21 or whatever) Washington State Cougars lead the Tree 49-47 with under 10 to play. C'monnnnnnnnnnn Coug's!!!!!

Lunardi now has us as 4th in the 1st four out behind St. John's, Providence AND Cal. Ugh. And Stanford's going to win.

It they've been moving up by beating cupcakes, I would think we'll move up by beating PSU too

Yeah. We win our next game and a few in front of us lose and we'll move right back up.

Honestly starting to think Lunardi has something against Minnesota(not really). As of now, he's somehow found a way to find room for at least FIFTEEN teams between Iowa and Minnesota in his at-large selections. Iowa is an 8 seed with an rpi of 53, a sos of 42, and a record of 20-11. Minnesota is a first four out team with an rpi of 49, a sos of 6, and a record of 18-12.

St John's has no business being ahead of Minnesota in any rational look at the bubble. They have an rpi of 56, a sos of 48, and a record of 20-11. In many ways they look identical to Iowa right? Well, St John's has ONE win all season against a team that will make the NCAA tournament in Creighton.

Providence is basically St John's with a worse strength of schedule (62) and a slightly better second best win over likely tournament team Xavier (they also beat Creighton).

None of this matters if Minnesota can't find a way to beat Penn State for a third time, but Gopher fans would have a major gripe with the hypothetical Lunardi committee if the season ended today.

NDSU

NDSU really lucked out last night. They'll be one and done. NDSU fans are really beauties. Rank right up there with the Skunks and the Chicken Hawks. Fans showing " Final Four " signs. I could pickup five HS kids playing at the Recreational Center here in Florida and beat them like a drum. There are so many great young athletes down here it
blows your mind. All Billy Donovan has to do is step out the back door and walk over to the local playground.

The Bison now have the same amount of NCAA wins in the 21st Century as the Gophers.

Crazy how teams like Mercer and Dayton get in.
