BTN's Tom Dienhart: Minnesota's win wasn't impressive; offense went in fits and start

You know what they always say, "statistics are for losers."
I don't know who they are, but they are idiots. Probably the same people that thought Romney was going to win the election despite all those pesky statistics saying otherwise.

I like how dienhart is pumping up these teams who beat fcs teams lol what a joke that guy is

Yeah, and he says he's not impressed despite the fact that he predicted the Gophers to squeak out a 28-27 victory.

This will seem stupidly simplistic, but there are three parts to a football team, offense, defense & special teams. Secondly, there are two parts to a game, the first half and the post adjustment second half.

With regard to the teams, clearly our special teams were spectacular. Defense wasn't bad and better in the 2nd half. Offense was poor in the first half and better in the second.

Finally, Kill had a fairly limited offense in play. That should be expanded this week at least some. We face another really bad team and we will find out how coachable they are. Particularly the two lines.

I'm not prepared to dye my hair gold yet, but neither am I suicidal. This is a team with a new found depth in many places. We will begin to find out this week if and how quickly this depth turns into on field skill. This week will be be a test equally of the players and the coaching staff.

Go Gophers!
