From what I recall Bryant wanted to play basketball again his sophomore season and Tubby said no thanks for whatever reason. That was a mistake IMO.

He wanted to play two sports in college, so that may have had something to do with him leaving. How much? Who knows.

I remember it being Brewster saying he needs to focus on football.

That's how I recalled it as well. We could have really used him in both sports.
