Brosmer is playing tonight…

First time I have questioned KOC. It made zero sense to keep trotting Wentz out there. I actually have my concerns JJ will be any better. It's too early to say he is Christian Ponder, part deaux, but so far he has been been Christian Ponder, but with injuries.

If he is Ponder 2.0, at least he's done us a favor by being injured so much so we haven't had to suffer watching him on the field

I dunno about that anymore...

When it comes to strategy and games I tend to be more conservative, but I am more skeptical of the NFL coach's desire to play an old vet like Wentz .... when he plays like that.

Like you presumably pick up these guys because they'll at least make the obvious passes and not make rookie screw ups. But that's been what Wentz does.

Wentz ... doesn't seem that different than having a rookie sling it ...
It will be interesting to see how they handle things if/when JJ comes back and sucks or gets hurt again.

Going to Wentz early made sense but at this point of the season it might be time to see what Max can do.

Before we give up on McCarthy, who didn't get a rookie year to make mistakes, let's look at other 1st rd QB's in their first few games. Also, I do not know if they were playing behind a garbage offensive line like McCarthy has? I know Denver's was decent, great now. Bears was bad. Washington's was average. Atlanta's was ok maybe? McCarthy was 21 and is just 22 now.

Penix: first 3 starts 3 td's, 3 int. 24 yr old rookie.
Daniels had 0 td's and 0 Int in his first 2 starts.
Maye had 5 td's and 2 int.
C Williams 2 td's, 3 int in his first 3 games.
Bo Nix had 0 td's and 4 Int in his first 2 games. 24 yr old rookie.

Other than Drake Maye he is at least as good/bad as the others. Let's give him some time!

Maybe KOC likes Max and didn't want to see him get punished behind our offensive line? Conversely, maybe he doesn't care if Wentz goes off on a stretcher? Otherwise, I am dumfounded why Max didn't get a chance.

I agree there's just not enough stats on JJ to know.

My only giving up early trigger would be more and more injuries.... :(

I'm hopeful that's the case. That's the only sane explanation that I know of.

I’m not a JJ guy but I hope I’m wrong

In college, he attempted 30 passes in a game 4 times.
He attempted fewer than 25 (only including his two years as starter) 17 times.

He threw for 300 yards in a game his team won once in his career.
For context, Lindsey has one such game in his career
Brosmer had one such game.
Tanner Morgan had 3
Kaliakmanis has 2 (1 at Minnesota and 1 at Rutgers)

McCarthy is a front running QB playing on a bad running team

Assume the lapdog you are referring to is QB coach Josh McCown. They did catch those two in a couple of odd interactions given the way the game was going.
That sir, is an understatement.

By the looks in their eyes I thought they were going to excuse themselves from the game a couple of times.
