He hired the one coach in all of college football who is day to day on availability; you tell me.

Kill has never missed coaching a game due to his seizure condition. Mark Dantonio missed games after his heart attack following a Notre Dame game; you tell me.

Also, Urban Meyer took a leave of absence for several months for health problems.

Your attempts to be a fair sighted fellow are quite debatable, you just can't help yourself in taking jabs at Kill when ever you get the chance, and then you go on the defensive and say you were not talking about Kill. Im sorry to say but you my man, are not a biased individual on these boards in terms of coach Kill.

When Jerry Kill was hired as the Gopher football coach, he was stepping into one of the most challenging jobs in college football. Of course he is going to ruffle feathers, he was breaking up a regime that was inept and unseccessful. I would expect to hear some stories of individuals being upset with his actions. So hearing that you have some dirt on him is just great, what college football coach doesnt have dirt in some regards (Joe Pa)? If you are a true gopher fan like you claim (and Kill supporter like you claim), you would be on the Wiscy boards telling all the dirt to the Badger fans about how inhumane those coaches were, and the lunacy of Biliema, and not on the Gopher Football board doing just that. Not everyone is going to be happy about Kills decisions, and certainly you are not. Turning around a sinking ship is going to cause strife among those who don't want the change. Being a D1 college football coach is one of the most challenging jobs in the US (to be successful that is). Im sure if I followed Kill around all day I wouldn't like everything I saw. Im sure if I followed you around too though that you are not some great saint. Im sure you are just a perfect choir boy on the reg. Kill has eyes on him 24/7, yeah its part of the job, but at the same time not every pair of eyes is going to like what he sees Kill doing. The Gopher program needs all the positive voices it can get, and your continuous shots at kill are taking this program in the opposite direction. You seem like a good man, but at the same time you seem like someone who holds on to grudges and wont let them go (towards Kill and past slights towards the U of M in general). Holding a grudge can feel empowering, but com on man, give it a rest, this program needs all the help it can get.

Get a life, Vic. Every message board, no matter the subject matter, needs posters who disagree with the prevailing view and inject a dose of reality into the discussions. Sportsfan fills the bill for that perfectly because unlike the large majority of us he has first hand knowledge of what he is talking about.

It is pathetic how many Jerry Kill Kool-aide drinkers there are in GopherHole. We don't need Johnny-come-latelys like you to lecture long-time Gopher fans who have been on this board for years about what we should do to support the team.

Since his first day in Minnesota Kill has done nothing but make excuses for why he can't win games. No stand-up guy ever makes excuses for his own performance and he especially doesn't spend two years bitching about the quality of his team. I don't care how many games he wins as the Gopher's coach - to me Jerry Kill will always be a whiny little pipsqueak.

You seem like you need a good, stiff drink, Killjoy. Have another glass of Kool-aide.

Wow, man. You're a real peace of work. You attack him for having a different opinion and why he should allow people to post with different opinions, then you do exactly what you are telling him not to do. Nice logic. Maybe you should be Head Coach since you have been posting on here for years. I bet you would do a great job. Just saying.

+1 You captured the irony of Go4Broke's posting so much better than I did. I hope he is just having a bad hair day.

Broke's a clown. Lack of logic and hypocrisy are his flaws.

Kill bitched and whined about why he couldn't win? Or how about explaining why he didn't win. Yeah, he repeated himself a few times.. but cripes man.. The staff was gutted for the 5th straight year with some attrition. Of course he isn't going to win.

But since Broke's already has an opinion on the man; anything that'll happen from here on out, he'll only see and hear what fits in his frame of who Coach Kill is. Conveniently leaving out any other facts that may prove otherwise. It's how he rolls, though.

Kill told us who he was right from the get go by reminding us every time he had the opportunity that the players on his team weren't big enough, strong enough, and fast enough to win football games. He spent two years throwing them under the bus. The fact you and many other Gopher fans failed to recognize it and call him on it makes you guys as big a weenie as him.

Then you must have really hated Mason with his patented "it's really hard to win here" spiel after EVERY SINGLE SEASON.

WOW, Go4Broke is something else. It amazes me how people struggle to understand that it takes a few years to turn a program around. When you have a guy like Brewster that not only had difficulty keeping a coaching staff together, but bringing in the right talent (bigger, faster stronger) to compete in the BIG 10. Why is it that people question Kill after 2 football seasons (only 1 of those had any of his recruits) and some reasonable progress. I guess it is always easy to criticize and complain, rather than support. My wager would be that Go4Broke would find something to complain about or criticize if the Gophers lost in the Rose Bowl (FIRE KILL, HE CAN'T WIN THE BIG GAME).
It is humorous that so many other Big 10 websites have excitement about their program, recruits and staff, yet there are people like Go4Broke seems to be the anti-fan. Maybe he isn't a Gopher fan at all, but a NDSU, Wisconsin or Iowa fan that enjoys posting on this website? In my opinion, "Go4Broke" should just "GoComplain" somewhere else.

If you watched any games the last few years, it was obvious that we were not big enough, strong enough and fast enough to compete in the B1G. How much weight and strength did the players add in just the first year under Kill? We haven't even discussed the number of players that were on the verge of loosing their academic elegability...

It is like any new leadership, they tend to favor their own players that come in committed to the new system. That typically doesn't go well with the older players. It happens in the corporate world all the time with old experienced people being demoted or let go and new people taking over. It is the fastest way to change the culture.
