would assume would get a decent spot with possible 2 in the playoffs-- the 6-6 teams can't jump us. Regardless I don't see them selling many tickets

Gophers are likely going to Nashville. Iowa can pass them in the pecking order now.

We should have to stay home this year because we played the academics card last year. This year going to a bowl game based on our season feels like an equal sham because this year we collapsed with more aplomb even though we had an easier schedule.

Today won't help, nor will our fan excitement or lack thereof.

Perhaps we'll have the opportunity to play Wyoming...

I have no care in the world where we go. I'll watch it regardless, but it doesn't matter to me one way or the other. Every option is meaningless.

Our group of 8 will be there regardless of the location, date, and opponent!

Not a chance I'm going even if I win the lottery tonight. So I could care less where we go or who we play. Detroit looks like the best chance at a win though.

Nashville or Santa Clara.

Georgia/Arkansas or Utah/Washington State seem to be the likely opponents, interesting enough for me to attend even though I'd rather not watch Mitch again.

Yeah, it's looking very likely to be Nashville. SEC opponent. Could be fun and interesting. Had a great time in Nashville last time. I might drive down for it...

If you don't like it, don't watch it. Why would it bother you if these kids play an extra game?

Wrong. Not an easier schedule. We drew the Big Ten East Champion on the highway (Wisconsin / Camp Randall Stadium) and the Big Ten West Champion on the highway (PSU / Beaver Stadium). We lost a total of 4 games. Two of them are to the Big Ten East Champion on the highway and the Big Ten West Champion on the highway. How is this an easy schedule?

Will recruits roll their eyes when we say we went to third tier bowl, third tier bowl, and defunct third tier bowl? Especially with no realistic chance to make a second tier bowl or one of the big New Year's bowls?

It's a recruiting thing, you might not get it.

Isn't your argument we would be better telling them we made third tier bowl, third tier bow, no bowl?

No bowl in a year we jettisoned the dead weight coaching staff that held back the team by ignoring that they needed to develop a Power 5 level QB? Yes.

Tell me it isn't so.

Who on our roster should we have "developed" this year? Seriously, this is ridiculous. Try living in reality dude.

Oh, Rhoda's one game didn't earn him anything more than a kick in the ass out the door for playing at level comparable to Mitch's?

I could take today's loss if Rhoda was leading the team because I would expect him to backside a little, but Mitch? As someone else pointed out, this was 2014 Mitch. A Mitch who regressed two years.

Because of requirement / selection agreement with Music City and Citrus Bowl, B1G has to send rep to Music City Bowl this year. We could have been heading back to Orlando on December 31st vs SEC opponent, I think? Personally, I'd like to see us play an SEC team.

I'd rather win, so heading back to Detroit sounds good.

They won't draw 2,000 fans in Nashville after this meltdown.

Lets face it, with our "fan" base we won't draw well anywhere under almost any conditions. Of course, our "fans" will blame the teams play not the fact that when you have a stadium that is half full on Sr. Day that that will play a part in which team gets selected to go where. In the same way that they don't believe the thousands of screaming fans helped wisconsin in the 2nd half. In the same way they think showing up is good enough. They shouldn't have to cheer for the team (was actually told to shut up during the Northwestern game by a "Fan" who never clapped or cheered during the entire Northwestern game and of course -- left early to beat the traffic......

But hey, Tony Dungy will be our coach next year, right? so no worries. He will magically pull 42 wins out of his ass next season. It has taken me a long time to figure this out. I used to not understand how a no talent, worthless hack like Reusse could be a writer at the STrib, but it's finally dawned on me that most Minnesotans have a good idea of what they want to see on the field and no idea, absolutely no idea what it takes to get there. Most Minnesotans appears either agree with or are as stupid as Reusse. We get what we deserve on that front, and we deserve better.

Our team deserves better fans.

Our team deserves better fans.

Our fans deserve a team that can win a Big Ten Championship ever 50 years and can beat Wisconsin at least once a decade. Until then, lots of us fans won't be spending one cent watching this team in a meaningless bowl game. We want a team we can get behind and believe in. If the school can't provide it, don't expect us to blindly financially support it.

So do Styx and The Guess Who. If only they had better fans, they wouldn't have to play at empty casino venues.

Denying the players a bowl game and all the perks that come with it when they played well enough on the field to earn it will make recruits WANT to come here?
