Boise State out of the Arizona Bowl. Central Michigan may go to the SunBowl now
Just a messy situation all the way around. Feel for any fans that setup holiday plans around a bowl trip that aren't going to get to see their team play. Thankfully the Gophers and WVU seem on track to get the game in tomorrow night without any issues. Hopefully it stays that way.Boise State out of the Arizona Bowl. With so few regular season cancellations/postponements when the Bowls were announced, would have seemed like a pretty safe bet that all the games would have been played.Just a messy situation all the way around. +100000stop testing if players have no symptoms
It's a done deal it's a four hour drive from Phoenix to El Paso.Boise State out of the Arizona Bowl. Central Michigan may go to the SunBowl now
More like six hours. Four from Tucson. It's a done deal it's a four hour drive from Phoenix to El Paso.
Your right Central Michigan is in Tucson!More like six hours. Four from Tucson.
stop testing if players have no symptoms
It is a good and logical idea because a collection of the most fit humans on the planet have miniscule odds of getting very sick or even moderately sick from a virus declining in strength.Problem is that regardless of whether one player has symptoms....in a contact sport like football.....that player has a good shot to pass it to others. And nobody knows what kind of symptoms the other players will experience. So no.....this is a bad and reckless idea.

Not chimed in until now...
It is wrong to treat omicron the same as delta. Enough data is in to know there is a huge difference in terms of symptomology and morbidity.
Unfortunately there is no realistic mechanism to distinguish between the two...so we're screwed as if they were the same.
A virus spreads because that is nature's way. Only total long term isolation of every human on earth can stop a virus from spreading. And everyone else that they come in contact with? No. Spreading a virus that has killed nearly one million Americans is a stupid idea no matter what.
Well stated fact. The chances of hospitalization or death has been near 0 for college athletes regardless of what strain it is. Most barely know they have it. That's been the case the entire pandemic. Plus, nearly all of these guys have been vaccinated.
Athletes are currently playing through more severe symptoms with the flu, then have to sit out for an asymptomatic positive covid test. This doesn't make any sense, isn't backed by Science, and this nonsense needs to end immediately.

doubtful the team is testing vaccinated players that aren't showing symptoms, so doubtful there would be "asymptomatic positive covid test"s - except among the unvaccinated team members. likely unvaccinated team members are getting tested twice weekly, whether they show symptoms or notThe chances of hospitalization or death has been near 0 for college athletes regardless of what strain it is. Tell that to Justin Foster, Asia Durr, Jayson Tatum, Yoan Moncada, and on and on...It is a good and logical idea because a collection of the most fit humans on the planet have miniscule odds of getting very sick or even moderately sick from a virus declining in strength.
Surely you've heard of the vaccine??? Worked well for small pox! And measles, mumps, polio, etc.A virus spreads because that is nature's way. Only total long term isolation of every human on earth can stop a virus from spreading.
Those vaccines actually work 100%. Covid vaccine is like the flu shot, not really a vaccine, merely a temporary fallible prophylactic like the flu shot. Produce dead children and young adults and you would have 100% compliance.Surely you've heard of the vaccine??? Worked well for small pox! And measles, mumps, polio, etc.
If everyone eligible to receive the vaccine in early 2021 had done so we would not need this thread.
Can we push our game time up?Holiday Bowl (UCLA vs NC St) toast.
Data shows there’s been little to no transmission in sports like football.Problem is that regardless of whether one player has symptoms....in a contact sport like football.....that player has a good shot to pass it to others. And nobody knows what kind of symptoms the other players will experience. So no.....this is a bad and reckless idea.

You need to face up to your role personally of transmitting virus to millions of people. Yes you, Mr. Simpering Baby, are part of that human chain that contracts disease and spreads it around. So when do you hold your yearly flu parties? No need to delay the inevitable, right?
And surely you are aware that the majority of new cases, hospitalizations, and deaths are vaccinated people. They are experimental drugs and not very effective, unfortunately.Surely you've heard of the vaccine??? Worked well for small pox! And measles, mumps, polio, etc.
