Bostick's Facebook Status...uh oh

I have to admit, I'm a little confused that Bostick isn't playing much while Hoffarber continues to play worse and worse with each passing game. This fact makes me think that there is something going on with Devron besides what we know here.

But one thing is for sure, Blake hasn't done much of anything for almost a month now. We can't continue to have him on the floor if he can't hit shots (or now, free throws ), he can't play defense and he's turning the ball over all the time. I'm not saying that Devron is necessarily the answer at that spot, only that if Blake keeps this up, he's going to need a seat on the bench pronto.

Do you really think he knows all 1273 of his friends? I think he knows better than to write it if he doesn't want anyone to see it.

GopherLady...YOU summed up my feelings perfectly on this thread. We can all assume. And I love your tator tots. When I was coaching, I had a lecture I gave to my players, and you will recognize this. In the locker room: What happens here, what is said here, what is done here, stays here when you leave here. IFFFF there is something, Tubby will deal with it. Thank you GL for explaining my thoughts very clearly. Sincerely, Dr.Don.

No, I'm sure he doesn't. That's the thing, I have no idea if the coaches teach them about this stuff. I always email them when they have an inappropriate status, or have pictures drinking, or just have stuff that will make them look bad. I asked myself - how do they not know this? I think a lot of them mean well, and are nice, so they accept all of these friend requests, and trust too much. I honestly fault the programs more for not having a mini-seminar on this stuff. Especially after Channel 5 did that whole big thing last year on athlete's facebooks and myspaces. I remember, they all couldn't have accounts for a few months, and then it was back to normal.

And as far as all the grammar questions you all posed, almost all of them type and text like that. Trust me. I'm sure they don't do it for their classes, but they do it casually. Like it or not, it's the texting generation...but it's not like it's just Bostick.

I understand that. But this is typing on a computer, not texting. And many phones now complete the word for you.

I understand texting. I work with 14-15 year olds everyday. That doesn't mean I can't think it is the bane of written language.

Hoffarber got 22 minutes today and Bostick got 1. If something isn't up behind closed doors, Bostick should be pissed.

And all I am saying, is that (almost) all of them do it. If you send them an email or facebook message, this is what you get. I'm not saying it's right, it's a universal problem, but it's not just Bostick.

You think he ran out to the IU computer lab to update his status?

maliksealy, A fellow MN transplant down here in the DSM area (Hey, wasn't that snow last night beautiful?) here. I'm not as high on Bostick as you are, but I wouldn't read too much into it. As the father of a facebook user who regularly spies on her usage of the site, I can say without any hesitation that kids that age are creating transient drama on a scale that we can hardly imagine. An emotion on display today may of may not be real and is in no way predictive of any feeling, planning or action later tomorrow afternoon much less in a few months time.

Have a Bud, enjoy the win and pray for better rebounding against Illinois. IMHO a much better use of your time.

malik,

You're either a liar or not much of a friend.

Hahaha you obviously have no clue how facebook works. Most athletes have thousands of "friends" that they have never met in real life. If Bostick wants to accept every friend request that comes his way, then that's fine. But he needs to realize that whatever he writes will be made public in short fashion.

you people are sick. you have/had no idea what was going on. Leave the poor 20 year old alone. Good Lord

I'm guessing he updated his status via his phone. I doubt he had access to a computer from the locker room or plane or wherever he was at that time. But again, it's none of our business. Please leave the kid alone.
