I agree!I think Kiffin has found his calling as OC for a helmet school. I wouldn't give that up if I were him. He's got it made right now.

...and that's why Iowa will remain Iowa.
Playing Miami in non-conference = padding the schedule? Man they have really fallen off.
I agree...Miami at 6-6 is a joke.
A winning record every year and a couple BCS bowls per decade? Yeah, that must suck.
Tommy Armstrong is not happy with Pelini being fired. Anyone think Armstrong would look good in Maroon and Gold?

He wasn't a jerk.
He just looked like a jerk.
Well if Nebraska and Oklahoma had balls and any sense of tradition, that would be a non-conference game every year.
Tough on recruits that have committed there

As much as I never cared for Sweater Boy, Jim Tressel would be a fantastic hire for Nebraska.

Agreed, but I thought I read somewhere that there may still be some NCAA sanctions tied to Tressel that wouldn't allow for Nebraska to even consider him in the first place.
I'd take him but he would have to sit out a year correct? He fits our style pretty well
I think a lot of Nebraska players will bail. His players really like him.
and we should give them all a friendly ring and say hello. something like: "why hello young man. did you happen to see our games against NE the last two years? gonna look like that between MN & NE for the foreseeable future and we have some great new facilities on the way. now when is the soonest you can come visit minneapolis?"![]()
We'd likely have a lot of ground to make up. Rivals doesn't know everything, but I looked at their list of commits and only one--gigantic OT Christian Gaylord (6-7, 290) from Baldwin City, KS--had an offer from us. Doesn't mean we couldn't open up some aggressive contact when it's allowed, but we'd be playing make-up with most of these guys.
A lot? Not if they have to sit out a year.

From Deadspin - some outrage from players and commits:
