Keep hearing incredible things about Broncos QB coach Davis Webb, only 30 years old. The Raiders and Ravens have already interviewed him. It would be an incredible stretch to hire him as a HC at that age, but McVay was 30 when he was hired as well. Rumor is he impressed Sean Payton so much in his interview that Payton called the guy driving Webb back to the airport to tell him to come back, didn't want anyone else to talk to him.

Someone could hire him as an extremely well-paid and elevated status, Asst HC and OC, something like that, but maybe Webb would hold out for something better in a year or so?

A name to keep an eye on, that's for sure.

 





I don't really know if he's very connected in the NFL (likely not a LOT?) but Warren Sharp is one of the major heavy hitters for NFL/NCAA football gambling analysis, etc. He thinks Sirianni should/could be out after that debacle. Sirianni is another coach I have not ever been very big on; when he has elite OC's and DC's, he does pretty well. The Eagles offense has not been great all year, despite having a pretty talented roster.

I wonder if more changes are coming across the NFL, whether it's Green Bay and/or Philly?

eh they'll fire patullo and move on given the offensive line was banged up all year. super bowl last year is more leash than a WC exit the next year. Add that to a bunch of easy options to hire in that role and Sirianni is back next year. I'd imagine that news comes out fast that they're firing Patullo so they can get early interviews with the top OC options that fit their roster that's pretty locked in

The Eagles are yet another team I don't understand why they don't play with any tempo. They're a grinding run team and if you at least get set on the ball you make the defense unable to sub. Against a skeleton d like San Fran, the goal should've been to get as many series as humanly possible against them.
 



Have to admit, I'm changing my opinion on Robert Saleh. When he left the 49ers a few years back, after coaching a defense with a litany of 1st round draft picks on defense, I thought he was largely a meathead kinda like Dan Campbell. Things are obviously a shitshow with the Jets, for anyone trying to lead that organization, so it's not surprising he failed there.

But what he's done this year in SF, combined with being a little older and working another few years under Shanahan, he could very well be ready for another HC gig and he probably will with so many openings. I'm kinda rooting for him at this point

Sirianni has never missed the playoffs in 5 years, been to the Super Bowl twice, and won it last year. It would be moronic to fire him.

Even though their offensive players still appear young enough in age, there are a lot of miles on Saquon and AJ Brown.

Me too. I knew the Jets were a mess but I didn't understand the full extent of the rot there and in retrospect, a lot of the issues were outside of his control.

That San Fran defense has no right to be even remotely decent right now and he has them playing.

Watching that game, if you had told me that AJ Brown was on the take, I would've believed you 100%. I can't imagine the Eagles even consider having him on their roster next season.

Howie Roseman's ability to draft, manage the Cap and construct a roster can make nearly any coach look above average but canning Sirianni when considering his entire resume with PHI seems ludicrous to me.

Agreed. The problem with AJ Brown is that he is also incredibly high maintenance. It's a weight on the entire team. I will also be curious what happens with Hurts. It's clear they really like Tanner McKee, is now the time to trade Hurts and Brown?

There is another team interested in speaking with Jesse Minter for a head coaching vacancy.

Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Raiders have put in a request to interview the Chargers’ defensive coordinator.

Minter has also reportedly been requested by the Ravens, Browns, and Titans.

Yeah, I saw that this morning. Minter was going to be at the top of a lot of lists and now that the Chargers are done, that will heat up.

One thing I had forgotten about this process, and why I'm happy both the Cardinals and Raiders are interviewing so many people; yes, it's good to check out as many as possible but one thing that gets overlooked is all the information you can get on your own roster from the interviewing candidates. A lot of good self-scouting information to be gleaned from a shitload of prospects who are looking at your roster and your team from the outside.

Kinda hoping we see some dominos fall later this week, we'll see
 

As expected (and I would be doing the same thing as well), John Harbaugh is more than likely interviewing the teams he's looking at as opposed to them interviewing him. No reason for him to go to a shitshow organization.

 





One interview in the books for Flores... we'll see how many more there are and if they go anywhere.

With both Tomlin and Harbaugh hitting the market, we're going to find out what kind of swag Brady carries around the league with coaches.

It should be very interesting to see who really does end up in Vegas. I'm not ruling out anyone but the lack of a QB has to hurt their chances for a more established candidate.

Neither Tomlin nor John Harbaugh have ever been part of a "rebuild" project such as the Raiders.

That's why I think it's a longshot for either of those guys ending up in LV. What a fun storyline it would be if Tomlin stayed in the Division and went to the Ravens.

Steelers would still retain the rights to Tomlin, so a team that wants him would have to trade for him, like the Broncos did with Sean Payton. The Broncos gave up a 1st rounder, a 2nd rounder, and got back Payton and a 3rd rounder. Have to believe the arrangement for Tomlin would be somewhat similar.

Maybe Tomlin sits out a year to relax, who knows. Part of me thinks he's had (or his agent has had) at least some kind of tentative discussions with one or more teams for him to just walk out the door. Maybe not though.
