Here is the big one out of Baltimore.
Wow. He is now at the top of every list. Here is the big one out of Baltimore.

I don't see anyone giving John Harbaugh big $$ to be on TV. Zero people will tune in to a game/pregame because he's on. He's the boring one.If I were John Harbaugh I would take a year off, go to TV (get paid handsomely) and wait for a better offer than what's out there now.
I'm not sure the family is wired that way.

If Bill Chowher can find a gig, Harbaugh will have no problem, as he’s not funny and engaging. There are several talking heads on NFL shows with minimal charisma.
I think he's rather insightful in interviews and in NFL Film clips, with decent humor. Just having "Former Super Bowl Winning HC" is going to get interest and something substantial.
NFL Network, CBS, NBC, FOX, ESPN, Prime, NetFlix...sombody will pony up.
I'm sure he can get a gig. But no one will pay him the $15 million + he can get coaching. There are several talking heads on NFL shows with minimal charisma.

Those things are negotiable. Plus often if he doesn't make a meaningful effort to get equivalent employment they don't have to pay the buyout.I presume whatever TV money Harbaugh would make (mid to high 7 figures) to be on top of the $17,000,000/year the Ravens still owe him.
I think if he gets a new Coaching gig, the amount the Ravens owe him goes down by whatever they pay him or what ever the 2 franchises negotiate.

John Harbaugh’s Contract, Salary, and Net Worth: How Much Money Do the Ravens Owe After Firing HC?
Find out how much money the Baltimore Ravens owe to John Harbaugh after firing the head coach on Tuesday.www.profootballnetwork.com
The word incredible is overused, but it's truly incredible how many head coaches the've had over the past several years and how short of leash they give them. Carroll is accomplished and talented, and if he can't do it, who could? I can't imagine they'll be able to attract anyone with anything on the ball unless they strike gold with a promotional opportunity, and even then, would they give that person the time and space they need to work their plan? It seems like a complete shit show.
If I’m B Flo, I wouldn’t touch that HC with a million foot pole.
He likely gets one more chance at a HC opportunity, and I would wait for the right fit. He’s only 44.

I can't speak to his contract specifically, but generally yes. I think it's pretty common to negotiate a settlement because of that.Does it really work like that in the NFL?
If none of those jobs appeal to him, I don't see why he should be forced to uproot somewhere else.
I've never quite understood the Lamar Jackson love. Sure, he can be exciting at times to watch. But his refusal to work within a structured offense would have to be so maddening as a coach. The way the Bills call a game with Josh Allen as a mobile QB seems so much more productive than Jackson's "take a seven-step drop, see no one open and scramble around like a chicken with it's head cut off and hope you make a spectacular play". IMO, he's a slightly better version of Kyler Murray, and is regarded way higher than deserved.Damn, there's some crazy numbers....
Of all the "big name" QBs the Vikings might pursue in the off-season, I don't want him. His main value is his running and even as big as he is, that is going to decline at some point fairly soon IMO. He will then be a below average QB at best. Some of that is true with Josh Allen too, but he's a better passer than Lamar if still not great.I've never quite understood the Lamar Jackson love. Tony Dungy was on Dan Patrick today and said from his discussion with the Rooney's, Tomlin is in zero danger of being fired. I suppose he might just want out though. If I'm Harbaugh, I'm waiting to see if Tomlin and the Steelers part ways. Talk about job security. Those two (Steelers and Harbaugh) seem like they'd be on the same wavelength.
My assumption is that this move was made once some kind of "arrangement" or agreement in theory was made with Brady and a candidate of their choosing. I don't think they made this move blindly, but I could be wrong.
I disagree, this is probably the BEST shot Flores will ever get.
Not only have the Raiders historically been EXTREMELY minority-friendly in their hiring, but Flores and his prior relationship with Brady would make him almost bullet-proof. This is easily the best chance Flores could see if he really wants to be a HC again.
I don't think the Raiders is that bad of a job. The roster is garbage, but they do have some assets, they have the #1 overall pick which will be attractive to an incoming HC, and the new coach will be given a long leash.
I don't buy the argument that it's a bad job because of the turnover. Bad decisions are bad decisions, better to move on earlier than later. Gruden would have been fine, more than likely, if not for the Redskins witch hunt. The Pierce move was really the worst thing imaginable. Davis caved to pressure from the players which is just plain f*ng idiotic.
Josh McDaniels got sideways with some of the players because it had become a country club and Josh McD actually wanted them to WORK. Oh, the HORROR!!! Coach Pete never had a chance, not with the current roster and with Geno f*ng Smith as QB. Carroll hiring his two sons as coaches and forcing Geno Smith on the roster, he got what he deserved. Stories coming out now just how BAD the one kid, Brennan, was at coaching the OL, the players basically teaching themselves, looking elsewhere for help, etc.
Players play, coaches coach, owners Own. Lost a lot of respect for Maxx Crosby going public and saying he would force a trade if they didn't keep Pierce. Pierce was borderline Jim Tomsula bad. What happened when he was at ASU should have made him almost unhirable, but the Raiders are gonna Raider...
I would welcome Flores to the desert with open arms IF he hires a MAJOR heavy-hitter as OC so that Flores doesn't have to go anywhere near the offense.
It's very difficult to come up with a single example where nepotism has had a successful outcome in a business setting, at least in my limited experiences.More smoke on how bad the situation was in Las Vegas when Carroll forced his kids to be on the coaching staff.

We’ll agree to disagree on this.
My contention is simple: Mark Davis was the controlling owner & managing general partner for all those HCs hires IIRC, and is still ultimately calling the shots and will be until he leaves this mortal coil - he’s also 70 years old and the older you get the harder it is to change, plus he inherited a billion dollar business, when his parents passed, so he’ll keep milking off their past accomplishments and keep rolling in the dough in his new market/home.
I don’t believe Terrific Tommy has the keys to anything; it makes for a nice narrative as they usher in a new era of competence.
Also being star in your sport in no way assures greatness as a coach or in the FO -
Magic - basket coach
MJ - Majority Owner
Isiah - as both a coach and GM
Axing Carroll after one year, shows to me the continual dysfunction of that crappy team: of course they’re now releasing stories about Carroll’s ineptitude.
He get one more bite at the HC apple; no way I would place![]()
in Mark Davis’
. Although, I could be wrong I often am

Jim Irsay's reign as Colts Owner went better than his father Robert. It's very difficult to come up with a single example where nepotism has had a successful outcome in a business setting, at least in my limited experiences.
