BIG Game 16: Gophers host Ohio State, Feb 18th

We always start by missing so many easy baskets. I’m worried this pressure is going to tire us out. Go Gophs!
 




All I ask by the refs if they’re going to call anything now and let them play physical, don’t change it in second half. Lots of stuff not being called (both sides in my opinion)
 



More misses, air ball by Battle, 3 by Ohio State, miss close by Hart, missed 3 by Braun, missed layup slightly contested by McKinney....

Gophers down by 7. Cannot survive all these misses. Would be a much different score with average shooting.
 


I don’t recognize this team :( so many rushed and missed shots. Part of it’s the pressure and I’m sure tired legs but they need to settle down. Let’s Go!
 





What is with all the misses? Nerves? Nice shot selection but can’t make’em. Reminds me of earlier this season. This would be a good game for GG to re-emerge.
 







Closed the half to get it back to three.
For Gophs to win:
McKinney can’t foul out and we have to contain Watson and Gray.
I think the bunnies will fall. Probably nerves as it’s a big game and some tired legs. Not sure why we didn’t see Christian at all.
 

Outside in the posts the gophers were 6/31 and only down 3. They’ll find a way, they are creating good looks
 


Gophers should have the lead, so many missed opportunities. We need someone, anyone to get hot. Also only getting one shot each time, not getting offensive rebounds like we usually do. Come on Gophers, you can do it!
 

Gophers handling the full court pressure well. If they can start to hit shots, they should be okay. Whoever is working the scoring bar on the telecast needs to 'get in the game'. 4 times so far they have forgotten to log the score immediately after a basket has been made.

Neither of their official team Bio's mentions the other as a sibling, but does mention that Kennedy has a sister playing for Vanderbilt and two brothers playing at ASU. Jaloni's Bio mentions 2 older brothers playing hoops, but no mention of Kennedy. Possibly related but not sisters? Maybe not related at all?

Tons of rushed shots.. Battle and McKinney take a deep breath stop there are people open..
 



So what adjustments do you think Ohio State makes to increase the pace of the game? I like where Minnesota is right now, considering all the missed easy shots. Be interesting to see if the Gophers can keep the pace of the game where it is, but start making those bunnies. Ohio State's height in the post seems to be a bit of an issue for us and we are very wary of their quickness and penchant for aggressive defense out top.
 



First 3+ minutes in the 2nd half, Gophers have held Buckeyes to just 2 shots. Braun with great defensive box out, then a tough rebound and a nice 3. Hart teaming up with Tori for a great double-team on the sideline that results in a turnover and that GG pass inside to Tori for the lay-up was a good, quick, decisive look and pass.
