Betting line against Illinois?

They forced us to throw last year. We weren’t up to the task. I will say this for Bert-led Illinois: they won’t beat themselves. That job falls to the Gophers and their coaching staff.

Looks to me like the Gophers will come out as favorites, but by only 2-3 points.

TeamRankings is usually very accurate as to where the line settles. Based on their numbers #16 Minnesota should be about a 2-3 point away favorite over #36 Illinois.

If this board was setting the line I'm sure it would be Illinois -14 at least, but we tend to overrate the teams that beat the Gophers (even last year) and underrate the teams that the Gophers beat.

Illinois defensive line could easily wreck us. We may be forced to throw and we'd be in trouble.

The Gophers threw for 257 against Purdue. They can throw the ball. The problem was they didn't come out doing it from the beginning last week like they did against Michigan St.

The Gophers are still the most complete team in the west. One bad game doesn't change that.
