Ben Johnson is a Disaster

No matter whether there's a change or not, I worry Asuma is already as good as gone. Johnson stubbornly refused to start Payne, and now he's stubbornly refusing to start Asuma. I don't get it. Are you trying to drive the kid away? What are you afraid of; losing games? You're already losing games!
I agree 100%. I would hope that Asuma will give the next coach every chance to re-recruit him. He's a solid piece to build around!

You have to convince each player of what their gift is and how they can be part of a winning team. Somehow Ben has been unable to communicate effectively how guys like JOJ, Carrington, Payne and others could mesh into something that is greater than the sum of the parts. They began thinking of their individual plights instead of the team and things broke down from there- at least that's what appears to have happened. His teams just don't seem to gel and guys that start out on the bench get mired there as Ben gets rutted in his thinking.

The only explanation I can think of--besides buffoonery and stubbornness, which is a possibility--is that he promised the upperclassmen transfers prominent roles or even starting roles in order to get them here, and he's making good on his promises. That's total speculation, but it's plausible.

Probably doesn't want Patterson's dad to yell at him. I've never seen him, but I'd imagine he's a big guy.

I really hope Asuma's brother coming here to play baseball helps the cause to keep him around post coaching change
