What the best place online to get vintage Baseball card sets. Looking for 1980's up to 1990's. Looking to start collecting Baseball cards again. I could go with Amazon. I rather not use ebay at all.

Are you looking to just buy the whole set or looking to complete sets that you have cards for already?

eBay will be your best bet for full sets in my experience, you just gotta be careful who you’re buying from. There’s some pretty big accounts that sell that will be reliable.

If you’re looking to complete partial sets, I used cardbarrel.com to help complete a bunch of mine. I’m up to 9 completed sets now. It’s very inexpensive. Takes a few weeks to receive your order but reliable otherwise. The website doesn’t have every card available but it helps with a lot of them, especially late 80s, early 90s.

Complete set. Also i don't use Ebay and never have and want to stay way from ebay. Complete whole set.

I have some unopened 5-card packs still from 1972. Wonder what those would be worth if I sold them? Who knows what cards are in the pack.

You might just have a small fortune on your hands
That's the scam of card trading that annoys me more than anything else. If you have a Nolan Ryan card from 1972 that hasn't been graded, it's worth about 100 bucks. But if you send it away to have someone grade it and it comes back as a 9 or 10, it's now worth 10 grand or more (assuming someone is willing to pay that).

I just hate ebay to a T.
I just started in 2024 going back to buying. The same stuff. I by unopened junk wax and complete the sets.

So far 1984, 86,87,88, and 89 topps plus 88 and 89 Donruss (I got 2 each of those). Some score. Some basketball, football, and hockey as well.

I really relied on eBay. I feel you, but it outdistances Amazon in this market. In fact, I am usually an Amazon guy, but in cards Amazon is a scammers market.

I never ordered from them, but dean’s card website looks legit,

Lots of cheap sets can be purchased at card shops. Also, Facebook marketplace.

Wow, I had no idea. Thanks for sharing the info.
I’ll sell you my votes for any election 😉 for a crack at those….. actually, kidding, I’d personally open them.

otherwise, I think grading is a scam, but probably worth trying for one of these. They do take a percentage cut, which should have killed them as a market maker, but the market is highly inefficient.
