B1G Game 17: Gophers host Washington (2-26-25)

They do huh? Mmmm let’s review…

-Michigan lost to USC by 20 in the one game Syla Swords sat out (by more than the Gophers lost to USC btw)

-Ohio State lost to Penn State with Jaloni Cambridge out (a team Gophers beat btw)

-Iowa lost to Oregon 49-50 without Stuelke playing

-Rutgers hasn’t won a game that Kiyomi McMiller has sat out

-Nebraska lost to the same Washington team Gophers lost by 10 to but by 21 and a score of 83-62 with Britt Prince out.

So yep….sure seems like every team manages injuries better than the Gophers..Right?
I can agree with someone's statement, you don't have to.

Agree with this totally, somewhere when the schedule got tougher, whatever confidence the Gophers had has disappeared. Currently there is not a go to player we have right now. Unfortunately for Gophers the peak every year in early season then regress from there.
Was it that we regressed or was it that we finally played teams that were better than us? Both are probably true.

Love the passion and I agree the team misses Braun and Woodson. Both our men’s and women’s coaches play to small of a rotation and it’s showing late in the season.

Losing by 3 possessions in basketball is really not that close to winning. We have 2 quality wins with a fairly veteran roster. I think we are a quality program but we have to get more athletic and have better flow on offense.

I trust the coach will continue to improve the program.
Passion=good. Being a d to people on here = not so much.

Illinois has been playing almost like a Top-25 since Cook was out for the season.
Nebraska beat Oregon without Britt Prince and Potts out for the season are a likely Tournament team right now.
Iowa won at Washington without Stuelke by 24 points which more than cancels out barely losing at Oregon.
Rutgers hasn't beaten anybody of note with McMiller, every team loses in the Big Ten loses at USC, and Ohio St throughout history has proven to me be a team not to trust in any game regardless of who or who isn't playing.

Though I guess that just means the healthy Gopher WBB players aren't that great so I need to temper my expectations of Gopher WBB ever being better than a lowly WNIT/WBIT team.

Always frustrating on Senior Night when all of the seniors don't get a chance to at least see a moment of action. Maggie deserved her moment in the game for all she's done in her time here. Jordan Brooks came to program still fighting an injury and never really got into the action.

Coach said Maggie is battling a broken finger on the pregame interview. Maybe that, and it not being a good matchup defensively kept her on the bench. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I don't like that if players have injuries they are not known always in basketball.

The same Illinois team gophers beat? that Same one?!

ohhh doesn't like when it's pointed out couch coaches and people who don't know these players or coaches act like they know more hiding behidn faceless/nameless profiles. If you know so much..tell Dawn

Illinois has won at Maryland, at Indiana, and beaten Iowa, Oregon, and Nebraska. Otherwise using that logic, Wisconsin is better than Michigan this season since they beat them (or MIchigan isn't any good because they lost to Wisconsin), etc.

Marlene was a good coach, and Dawn is a great coach. Both way better than Lyndsey, who was the equivalent of a middle school bb coach. We wouldn't be having a post season conversation if Dawn wasn't the coach.
"Marlene was a good coach"? Yeah, so good that she was fired from her last job for abusive behavior. Not my idea of good.

I should have never brought her name up. I'm frustrated that the Gophers, no matter who the coach is or who the players are, can never seemingly achieve what should be a very low bar of making it back to the NCAA Tournament because I hate that the most successful season in recent history (2017-18) was with her as the coach even if that season was somewhat of a fluke (and I know with Wagner graduating the Gophers would never be close to sniffing the NCAA Tournament again if she remained coach).

Shocking that yet again nameless/faceless cowards suddenly know more than Dawn. Also, it's LINDSAY WHALEN. Learn before coming at people and looking stupid.

If Stollings with her history of player abuse is what you want, speaks to how messed up you are as a person... cause there is more important aspects than basektball.

So now we are not competing... Losses by 10, 8, 7, 5 at home..with an average of 25 ppg sitting there in two injuries. But right not competing. I'd love to see any of you keyboard warriors D1 coaching record...or right.. none of you have even sniffed coaching at D1. Once again.. I gave everyone the email/mailing address for Dawn and the coaches... Does anyone wanna grow a pair and tell them how much more you know about her job than her? and actually use your face and name?

So Gophers should play tougher non-conference... Like when Washington Lost to Montana 68-82 in non-con.You know the same team the Gophers beat by 84-45. mmm how'd that happen? Washington played a stronger non-con, but lost to Indiana by 70-73... remind me again how did Dawn and the Gophers do against Indiana again?
Glad to see you're back. Was worried that you had decided to withhold your wisdom from us poor unenlightened masses.

Listened to 2 minutes and I just like the accountability of the coach and players.

Interesting that it was Washington's lowest output in a conference victory. 8 wins and all were more than what they scored last night. Offense was our real issue.

Washington's 8 wins. Average score. 82.5.
9 losses average of 65.5. still above what we were able to score.

I don't know everything, that's the point. Neither do you. And you're the one getting stressed out here.
