Is the game sold out yet? Is there any word from the U about ticket sales? It should be sold out by now, if not very disappointing.

With all the stuff on gophersports, all the posts on FB and all the tweets, looks like there's a ton left to sell. Didn't someone mention this wasn't part of the two-packs?

Probably looking less full than the Nebraska and Iowa games.

Throw in the deep discount ($20) and safe to assume supply is far greater than the demand.

Life as a Gopher fan. It's chilly outside and/or it's deer hunting season. Best not go to the game.

A little off-topic, but I flipped to the Bowling Green State at Miami (Ohio) game and the stadium in Oxford, OH couldn't have had more than 2 or 3,000 people. I don't know how some of the smaller MAC or Sun Belt teams generate enough income to make it worth having a FBS program.

Back to the subject at hand...
My guess is that the U will "sell" almost all of the tickets. The big question I have is how many no-shows might there be on a chilly early game? When they announce the gate attendance, my guess is that it will be something like 46,500. No matter. It will be much better than the Metrodome.

Sadly, I think people are still sort of waiting to see how the Gophers will do in this game before jumping on the bandwagon with both feet. There are still $20 seats left among others.

How many of you invite friends to the tailgate each game?

I get 8-12 to come just to tailgate and usually half end up getting tickets for the game. Some are now considering season tickets.

I just bought 2 more tix so no, not sold out at the moment. However, they must be getting close. I bought a couple of cheap seats for my son's friends. I asked for best available which is row 27 in section 246. This tells me the upper corners are filling up. I'm guessing the upper deck behind the student section has a ways to go. The visitor seats are probably also a bit sparse. Here's to hoping for a last minute tix surge. Tell your friends!

Go Gophers!

I think cutting the amount of student tix would be one easy way to increase demand around campus and get more students in the building. Plus that opens up space for the general public to potentially buy tickets in a place that is actually pretty great to watch a game if you want to actually watch the game from a more analytical stand point. I have sat up there for a few games and you get a great view of how plays develop and who is making/not making plays. Either way the campus football culture is slowly but surely changing for the better and more home wins will only speed that trend up!

Brick By Brick!

Again, the general population isn't grabbing these tickets any faster than students are. Leave them available for students until Friday at noon, and after that donate them to local HS football teams and charities.

People concerned about the weather and/or deer hunting opener make me puke. Come watch this team have a great shot at winning. Are the people who are on the fence because they're not sure if the team is for real or has a decent shot going to come against Wisconsin if we do win? Come on.

upon looking right now, the lower deck on the gophs side has 6 tix left on the gophersports site and there are few, on the gophers side, in the upper deck that are listed as still having good capacity. its starting to fill up, but i think we're really hurt by PSU not traveling to come to this game like an iowa, wisc, neb do as far as driving up demand. I'm sure many are approaching this with the idea that the tix will be there for a reasonable price on Wed/Thurs/Fri if they decide to go.

The U of M will claim 48,000 plus tickets sold, but the crowd will be more in the neighborhood of 42,000. No matter how many they sell, it always seems like there are a high number of no shows.

There are plenty of seats near mid-field still available. Sections 210 and 211 are only half-sold.

210 and 211 do have a lot of availability right now (probably because they're the more expensive seats), but clicking around in other sections it looks pretty good. The east corners (219/231/234) are probably 75% sold as of this morning, elsewhere is pretty full. My guess is we have an announced attendance of 48k.

I sadly agree. I think we'll be a bit higher than 42K actually in attendance, but I bet it won't be higher than 44-45K actually there.

+10

Looks as if the Student Section seats are being sold to general public..just had a buddy purchase 4 tix in Section 224.

Regardless of what actual crowd shows up....those of us that show up need to make some noise. I expect the atmosphere to be pretty energized (queue the 'Let's Get Energized guy') even for an 11am game.

No. Absolutely not. Under no circumstances shall anyone ever again queue the 'Let's Get Energized' guy. Talk about a soul sucking punch in the gut.

If I ever meet the commercial video director that saw that 15 seconds of footage and said, "Cut! That's a wrap. That's just the stadium pump up vibe we were looking for. Print it." I will punch him in the gut.

@GopherFootball #BringtheHeat Great job Gopher fans, we have sold 6,200 tickets since last Wed. #SkiUMah 2,500 left to sell for a sellout

I have heard more commercials on KFAN today for Saturdays game than I think I ever have, trying to sell tickets.

Go Gophers!!!

Sounds like KFAN might actually want to keep the contract Rochester? ;)

Life as a Gopher fan. It's chilly outside and/or it's deer hunting season. Best not go to the game.

I've heard someone say, "I have to get this damn raking done!" I've heard, "I really don't have the right clothes to sit in the cold weather." I've heard, "I really feel like hunting this weekend." I've heard, "I heard it might rain." Pansies, each and every one of them.

Give them the following answers :)

1. Well, there's snow on the ground in western Minnesota so raking is out of the question!

2. Who the he!! doesn't have cold weather clothes in Minnesota?!?

3. Shoot the deer at dawn, then come tailgate and head to the game!

4. Refer to answer two!

Obviously not directing anything toward you, keep in mind! :)

Two were friends and I simply said this, "I hate you so much right now." I probably just shook my head to the others.

The people on the fence and have excuses are really not fans to begin with.

Go Gophers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to this morning's STrib: "The Gophers sold 6,200 tickets for Saturday's game over the past week and were 2,500 tickets from a sellout..."

So with 48,300 tickets sold (and maybe more in the coming day or two), I am going to guess actual attendance of at least 45,000.

What is a sellout? I know that at some places, a technical sellout is 90%, 93%, 95%, or every single ticket including standing room. What is a Gopher Football sellout?

47-50 degrees on Saturday? JHC, it is a Gopher sweatshirt and a pair of jeans. If that doesn't do it, sneak in the hair of the dog. A flask of Jamison's fits nicely inside my cowboy boots.

Just looked at mygophersports.com and it looks like there are several dozen to at most a few hundred tickets left. It's down to pretty much top row seats in the corners. I believe this will be a sellout. If you're on the fence, get off it and buy the tickets. At TCF the top row of the second deck is still much better than the upper reaches of the dome.

I believe the U of M defines a sellout as 50,800 (100% of seating capacity)
